Congrats to your wife, looks like some good eating with that young buck.
Best of luck to you and the rest of your gang.

Thanks. After cutting it up today my wife remembers why I always recommend my guests go for at least a mid size deer if they want to take a meat buck. She doesn’t regret taking it but says she will go back to letting the small bucks walk next season

It will be peaceful season as the 2 original people I was going to take out had to cancel. My buddy from Calgary will still come up and talked my cousin into coming out for a few days late in the season so let’s see what we find yet.

Could really use some cooler temperatures but regardless I find mid month better for movement. Tomorrow is another day and plan to try out where the the drop tine hangs out and see how action is there

Just got him home hung and taking a break

Two years worth of work and tracking down his late season range 3 miles away from where he can be found in the summer. There has been a lot of ground covered to get to this point

He may not be the highest scoring buck out of the ones I chose to target but he is just plain cool and the history involved makes it even better

It is definitely a rack that pics don’t do it justice with all the quirks. Can’t really see it in the picture but he has a big of a knot on his one kicker and a hole in his main beam as well

Well done, man! Big congrats! And you didn’t even have to freeze your behind, haha.

Went out too yesterday for the first time. Interesting day, though no deer. Maybe I’ll scribble about it in another thread.

Gorgeous deer ('course, they all are!). But really love those heavy dark racks. Very, very nice!

That there is one heck of a character buck, and the 3 year quest to bag him makes it the trophy dreams are made of.
Congrats again neighbour.

The only downside is the game with this buck ends but I still have unfinished business with others and some up and comers to keep an eye

The nice part is I can shave off the beard that makes me look way older than I am lol

It ain’t over yet boys at least two more hunters are going to be playing me a visit
