Default Cougar problem

I say if there is this many people that feel this way you all should go to your local fish and game clubs or MLAs and vioce it to them. Ask for a saeson to be opened in your area. Hound hunters in that are would be able to get numbers back in check! I think there is a boot season in that area now but harvest is next to non for that.

There are cougars in the park, has been for years. They are not a problem they feed mainly on the deer population the odd moose calf perhaps a few elk, I doubt you will see a season for them the population is not near high enough for that. In the whole park Sask/Alberta the goverment estimate is 15 adults 15 juveniles.

Not quite sure what you are getting at scrapper as there already is a general non draw November season in the 3 Alberta WMU's that surround the park as well as unrestricted year round hunting by land owners in these WMU's.

Unless you mean allowing a cat hunt in the park?

Guys, have you ever noticed that there are some guys on this site that are experts in almost every discussion on every species? Also I noticed that one fellow is involved in virtually every heated discussion as well. Just food for thought but we probably should take these "facts' with a grain of salt.

you could take the facts however you want. they are available to all who want to see. of course you could take coctys line of thinking and whine about others that get to spend more time outdoors than you do and who are on top of the information about local wildlife populations and management decisions more than you are. some guys are pretty actively involved in this stuff and have the info, and others just argue from the heart. at least those guys show that they care about the situation. thats probably better than posting something that doesnt contribute anything but crying to a thread.

i bet if you try hard you could find someone to call and snivel to again hey fella. dont think i dont know.......

those numbers just don't add up,probably pulled out of thin air. in any case those numbers would very quickly rise with a large prey base and no control. though kitten predation by males is probably keeping the numbers in check. either way you look at it, that's a lot of cougars and certainly enough to warrant a season. their not a problem....yet.
