Wandering river area, shot by an outfitter client, mounted in Fort McMurray office.

No other "Grizzlies" out that far have any evidence ever brought with the story, no tracks or photos. The ones I've had with photos or tracks are all black bears.

I know one of the ranchers who lost two calves to that grizz. We were talking about it last week.

Default grizz

Regular signs and sightings East of Peace River where I'm working. Seem to be younger bears usually.

There was a couple large adult caught on game cam by the neighbours here a few weeks back near where I am located. range Road 50 between James River and Caroline. They like the grain on the ground around the neighbours grain dryer I guess.

Friend sent a video from the weekend north of Fawcett Lake. BIG Sow and 3 very big cubs walking on the road in front of the truck, would not move out of the way. They were very grizz in every aspect, even the claws!!!

Very cool video, sort of .... This is an established sow. They do not wander for hundreds of miles with cubs. Oh yeah!!! there must be a BOAR in the area then as well ....

That "bear" warning in Fish creek was actually a Grizz. Had a kill down just off the bike path.

I've taken a bit of a personal interest in this story and I've been following it for a couple years now. Montana has grizzlies in the Sweet Grass Hills and it's only a matter of time before these bears find the Milk River Valley (if they haven't already).

Montana has been hosting meetings as far east as Havre to educate residents about living with Grizzlies. That's about 130km east of the Sweet Grass Hills and SE of the Cypress Hills in AB/SK...

I think the furthest east they've been spotted in Montana is Loma.

My guess is 10 more years before they're in Saskatchewan if a season isn't opened up for them soon.

It appears you got Griz ,no doubt about it.
But the question I have is, why are the indigenous natives not shooting them as the muskox and caribou?

Which bike path? I ride/jog down there almost every day... would have been nice to know exactly where it was.

I'm not that far east, but got pics on one trail cam close to my house yesterday of a big old boar. Pretty common around here

Default Bears

Back in the 1970s my dad had a buddy that lived south of Boyle, his buddy and his brother both had grizz pelts from there farm, the old fellow always said there was more then a few around, riding motor cross and quads between long lake and Amisk lake then south to Smokey lake there was tracks over the years,I’m sure there is still a few around the area.
