My thoughts are with the vIctims and thier families , sorry to say but the whole sequence reeks of IRA , Boston has a huge Irish community and a large amount of money was raised in Boston for the IRA through noraid during the troubles so I wouldn't be quick to rule them out

Such a tragedy. Innocent people forever scarred. Hope the spineless perpetrators are caught and justice is swift.
My thots and pryaers are with those affected by this senseless act.

Hmm, you've kinda got me here if I'm entirely honest, I don't think there is a perfect solution. These people groups who want to kill us are not looking for peace, and that's the problem, as you mentioned. They're interested in bringing about the extinction of certain people groups, absolutely and entirely... remind you of anyone ~70 years ago? "Peace-keeping" didn't work in that situation -- all-out war was the only solution in that time period. It's worse now -- the battlefield has evolved -- less direct conflicts, more IEDs/rocket strikes/suicide bombings... by nature these are very hard to defend against, predict or otherwise lessen the effects of.
Also...when does the current administration finally step up and take responsibility for the state of affairs in the nation? They are STILL blaming Bush for everything and the current dummy in the Oval Office has been there for 5 years now. Could his wishy-washy foreign affairs policy be responsible, assuming the perps are who we think they are?
Shoot, that's a pretty loaded question -- but I'm no expert on US foreign policy and their current (or even past) state of affairs. My best answer is "now". The American people and their government have dug themselves into a hole, and they need serious reform. Like Reagan-style reform. They don't need trickle-down reform, no handouts, nothing. They're just barely keeping their head above water as it is, but it won't last forever. They need to take a 1/2 step back from the global marketplace and get their domestic affairs in order. Lots of work to do, and it starts with their economy. Just my two cents

Well it was bound to happen. Some forgettable actor is blaming guns for the Boston bombing
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...oston-bombing/
Quote:
Just hours after the tragic bombings in Boston, actor and comedian Jay Mohr took to Twitter to lambast the Second Amendment, saying it’s creating a “culture of violence.”
“What bothers me most about today is that we’re getting used 2 it. ENOUGH. 2nd amendment must go. Violence has 2 stop. Culture MUST change,” he tweeted Monday night.
The “Jerry Maguire” star apparently received some backlash for the comment, because just five minutes later, he tweeted, “The 2nd Amendment lends itself to the CULTURE of violence we are living in. Stop blowing up my timeline w your gun/porn fetishes.”
The actor later tweeted that he wasn’t trying to be political with the comment, he was just “sick of watching bloodshed on tv.” He also added he was amazed at how many pro-gun responses he received in such a short time.
He then retweeted several angry comments from users calling him a hypocrite, an idiot, a “douchebag,” and saying his standup act is “excruciating to watch.”
|
I swear people are all about the quick fix these days. Even Obama is taking the time to push the anti-gun agenda today.
Crazed gun owners, eh? Was it MSM?
They're already pointing fingers at "right wing extremists". Seems they forgot that several nutjob shooters in recent history were from Democratic backgrounds.
A nutjob is a nutjob is a nutjob..
Too vague as well as wrong.
This is like saying a man is a man is a man
Or a car is a car is a car
Get it????
Most nutjobs, psycho's, wingnuts, crazies, terrorists....etc......whatever you wanna call them.....each one usually has a religious or political reason behind their purpose.
Dont forget!!!.....All wars in mankinds history are based on politics and religion.
Just ask the next psycho you meet before you hang em and you'll see this is true.
Probably higher security is on it's way for public events after this horrific bombing.

No, that would be silly. My initial thought was one more of reflection on the biases and the unbalanced reporting that goes on in North American media. I'd bet that less than a tenth of the civilian "collateral" casualties from around the world are actually reported. And don't get me wrong -- this bombing at the marathon is a catastrophe. But why does a relatively low-casualty "flop" bombing get more press coverage than the tens of thousands of Afghan/Iraqi women/children who lost their lives as collateral damage of the relatively short war on terror? The most reputable estimates peg total Iraqi casualties at ~100,000 or more, ~25,000 insurgents killed, and roughly 4,000 American casualties. That's 4 civilians killed for every "bad guy". That doesn't sit well with me.
An interesting case study of this is "Agent Orange". Take a look at it, if you haven't heard of it before... pretty disturbing.

Plain and simply put......it's a matter of comparing foreign affairs to homeland affairs......which do you really expect to get bigger coverage?????

I understand that. What will nab the most readers, what will bring in the most advert revenue, etc... it's simple. But that's not what I'm talking about cheers

pressure cooker bombs used in India, Pakistan Afghanistan. Warned about as early as 2004.
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-...bombs-in-2004/
Lots of people sure seem pretty hyped to pin this on domestic terrorism. Too early to tell right now, but boy, I've never seen lip licking like this. Sad.

I have to agree. Give more nutjobs an opportunity to be copycats (though I', pretty sure they don't need more ideas).
Rugatika, I've noticed that too. LOT of salivating over this

I hope the FBI would be hunting for university students. Highly oxidative components like permanganate are much easier to obtain out of university chemistry labs.
Also, smart kids can get captured into some really weird political BS.

Yeah glen beck and Erik rush are practically foaming at the mouth with excitement.
Others are saying Seth macfarlane had prior knowledge. The federal reserve sure wants that global currency and the North Koreans ... A slippery slope indeed, saliva everywhere.

Game at Yankee stadium played "sweet Caroline" last night which is the Boston song apparently. Nice gesture considering the rivalry.

Rutherford said the liberal media were hoping white folks commited the crime in order fit the Obama agenda.
Now that is pretty sick and twisted, but occurs every day.
