Holy #*#*! At the end of day on Wednesday, according to your post, you had 2000 yotes to go. Now, 3 days later, you're down to 800 to go...you're processing 400 coyotes a day??? That's incredible...I can't even begin to imagine how efficient you must be. I'd like to be able to just spend a day watching and taking notes/pointers...probably learn more in one day observing your technique than I ever could from any Youtube video.

????? Hold on...I never said I don't believe you Skinner. I was just stating that I am more than impressed at how efficient you are at processing coyotes. My point was that I could learn much from spending time in your skinning shed...retread my post. Relax...methinks that much skinning has you wound a little right...lol.

It's nothing to skin 300 coyotes in a day with a winch if they are all ready to go...it the fleshing and stretching that takes time.

And it's looking like maybe you are one of them .Maybe I was giving you a compliment and you weren't smart enough to know .You never said there was someone helping you . I gotta agree with northbuck on his comment , I think you're a little uptight .. And yes I do know a little about fursheds .

pretty amazing since I look at this forum and combined we have less than 2K worth of dead yotes. You must have everyone in Alberta Sask and Manitoba combined dropping them off at your front door. Heck , how many did they have at the last NAFA sale?

NAFA May 2014 offering for coyotes is 115,000. Processing 10K to 15K coyotes per season is plausible for a big operation but everyone would have to know about the place so they knew where to take their yotes. Halfords Hides used to buy whole coyotes to skin/flesh but I wouldn't know how many that they averaged per year. It definitely wouldn't be someone like me working in my garage processing that many.....lol!

The fur buyer I used to sell my coyotes to told me one time he buys 5-8000 every winter. When I used to back in his drive way the coyotes were over the roof of my truck stacked up on each side of the drive way

Coyote numbers
Been following along and thought Id post a few numbers for comparison from a fur shed that had operated for 30 plus years. In one of their busier years three guys did up an impressive number of 6500 yotes. If I recall correctly the best they did was around 100 dogs in a day and it impressed me. They didn't work consistent hours and didn't achieve this number on a daily basis. That number was skinned, fleshed, sewed and stretched and they were a tired lot by seasons end.

This is quite a statement,in southern AB the only buyer was beaslys for about 20years and he was done a couple years ago,he was the sole buyer here and he was paying a bounty also.a huge number of his dogs came from sask by horse trailor load.he was only doing in that 5000 range but your#'s seem a lot high to me and as I write and hit send on this your #'s are Gunna be outrageous to a pile of people now.his pelts never went to nafa,he had a contract with cabelas.
His best skinners and there was two of them that worked for him were doing 100 a day skinning, fleshing, and on stretchers, very unbelievable to watch but I'm guessin your hands move so fast they take the part of 8 men by these standards.
At the end of the day I'm not buying it,I'm not in a Frenzy with the new guy here like a lot of members are here,I've banged out a sh...t pile of dogs and no what it takes.
At the end of the day talk is cheap and it takes money to buy whiskey.
It'll take you no effort at all to post up a one hr utube flick with it playing proped up on the wall of you skinnin dogs.
Time to stop talkin cause that's all that's been brought to the table here on this thread.
Prove me wrong please

If he was only doing around the 5000 I'm guessing he wasn't a big fur buyer?

Nothing like jumping all over a guy... I find his posts interesting . Typical AO welcoming committee! The guy that buys my coyotes says he had 7000 last year not sure how many are rejected but I thought it was alot. He pays Hutterites to skinn them , not sure what they charge him but obviously there is a profit margin built in there.
Coyoteskinner ya gotta have thick skin to hang around this place, but overall it is a good board. Hope you stick around.
