It was proven to me a very long time ago that the difference between a 1/2" gun and a 1 1/2" gun means next to nothing at 300 yards on an animal once the human factor is thrown into the mix.

Most guys I have talked to over the years have been well inside 300, but there have bee some outside, for sure, and you are likely right, considering a 1 1/2" rifle can win the biggest silhouette matches in North America - according to a guy that has done it!
