Yup… not sure anyone else noticed this but this video and the event in question is part of the training program for officers. Ie. What NOT to do.
Seems like in this instance… people are blowing this up as a video that released by others to slam police. In fact the video was released by police to better train police.
I say Cudos to the police department for the openness and being proactive to make a positive out of this situation.

PTSD is a very serious issue, but we don't know that this officer had PTSD. And the reality is, it really doesn't matter why he did what he did, the important thing, is that he isn't placed in a position, where he can endanger the public again.

Well, you're pretty close from what I heard on another video on this cop.
He is a Vet, but never saw combat.

That's so cute of you to think this.
The police had no legal choice but to release the video, then the Public posted it online....

Easy to criticize, but in an environment where a threat could conceivably come from anywhere, any time, we've turned cops into robots, trained to react, not think. If they do shoot someone, it's the whole mag, not a double tap and a cap gun is termed just as much a threat as the real thing.

Not trying to be cute but thanks for noticing.
I saw the comments about the video for educational purposes but see now it wasn’t a police post. So you are correct.
Reading the report https://www.sheriff-okaloosa.org/wp-...rt-Jackson.pdf. It looks like the police review was fair based upon the video.
It is an interesting case study.

Wonder where 1/2 of the rounds ended up in that residential neighborhood ??
Luckily no one lost their life because of those clowns.

I would think most rounds ended up embedded in the police car, pretty big target to miss.

There is a car guy on you tube called Scotty Kilmer. If I remember right I'm pretty sure he said all American police cruisers since 2005 have body armor that will stop 7.62x39 ak rounds.

Haha okay that's good to know haha
Really they must know their cars are armored so if actually shooting at a armored car that would show how much they were not thinking. Haha I never thought about them using suppression fire haha like in Afghanistan or something haha
You know without body cameras. If someone claimed this happened. Nobody would believe him.

That doesn't match up with what I am seeing online. Apparently armor plating is available, but due to the extra cost and weight, many police forces aren't buying it.
Then again, the vehicles on television and in the movies all seem to have bulletproof doors, because people hide behind them, and the bullets don't go through..

Depends I guess on how you Google it? After reading your post I googled armoured ford police interceptor and armoured interceptor's I got. If I googled armoured police cruisers I probably got what you were looking at. Some are but probably most are not. Its mostly Wikipedia or Quara people like us or used armoured cop cars for sale. No search results I saw really gave a answer.
In my area of Alberta you should see the dog catcher's car!

The lawsuits are being filed and new information is being claimed.
According to the victims lawyer...
There were two separate rounds of gunfire from the police.
First the Acorn drop shooting.
Then a lull as more police arrived armed with long-guns.
Police gave commands for the victim to place his hands over his head (his hands were cuffed behind his back) and to sit upright with his head exposed to their view.
Then the Police started shooting again.
It's amazing that this kid is alive.

It looks like the guy went from getting arrested, to collecting a windfall from the city/county, because of the stupidity of the police. I am thinking that they will settle, rather than to have a jury listen to the details and decide on an appropriate amount of cash.

Will the squirrel face any charges or walk away with his nuts intact?

The squirrel was likely the smartest one present during the incident.

From the distance he was shooting and the fact that cop was wound up like a $2.00 watch. He coulda easily put a bunch of rounds over that Police SUV.
