Well they have a diagnosis sort of and a treatment plan sort of.

The cat scan showed two tumors on one kidney. They have no way at this point to know whether they are malignant or not. She is feeling better and tearing around, but has a cold that will delay surgery for a day or two. The plan now is to remove the kidney. They will then do a biopsy and hopefully it ends there, otherwise it's chemo treatments.

She's a tough kid and she's in good hands. We'll continue to pray.

This must be a frightening time for her parents... and for you of course, too.

They seem to be moving quickly and acting decisively, which bodes well for her outcome.

Strength be with you!

Default dont worry

been there done that, have a young daughter just finishing the cancer thing in the childrens hospital. be glad she was taken there it means she is not in that bad of shape even though it seems so. if she was in absolute danger she would of been flown to the stollery, thats where kids are sent when they need a miracle!

Oh man. I hope for the little gal that she feels as loved as she obvoiusly is, and that the docs and nurses are on the ball. I'm a praying man, so I will.

My cousin is a nurse at the CH and I donate monthly for folks like you and in the hope I never have to attend there.

Thanks for the prayers guys. Marlin1 We'll be praying for your Emma as well. there are so many kids in Childrens that could use some divine intervention, praying could be a full time thing.

Emma is still being tested and is scheduled for surgery in two weeks, unless they change things up again.

She was tearing around her room yesterday as if nothing was amiss. Kid sure are a lot tougher than parents of grandparents.

Let us know if Emma's parents need anything. Happy to cook them some meals/ bag them up some jerky or have them over for a home cooked meal.

I feel for your daughter and family. I fully understand what being sick for a year or more is like. 13 months for me and no diagnosis. Funny thing is they are looking at my kidneys now too. It can be very hard to figure out some issues with the body and some doctors cannot figure it out. I hope all goes well for her and she has a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the offers of food, folks. I do appreciate all the prayers, well wishes and offers to help.

Man these kids go up and down like a yoyo. At midnight last night Emma was doing well and likely coming home today to wait for surgery in two weeks. By 4 a.m. she was barfing and had issues with a catheter. Fast Forward to 11 a.m this morning and she just woke up hungry and ready to boogie. Catheter problem has cleared up, and now we wait.
