Very very pretty goal by Ryan there. Great hands, lots of confidence the way he dragged that and put it away.

Can you imagine if our top line did top line things. Then the rest of the team chipped in like this. I know Lievo scored tonight but again they have done nothing. A trade need to happen there. If they could get a piece that clicked, we would be way better off. Has to be one of the least productive "top lines" in the league.

Monahan scored as well. But yes, they aren't the best Calgary line on the ice, maybe the 3rd best line, possibly the 4th.....

Maybe give them 4th line minutes for a game and see if it sinks in.

Solid game by the Flames.

Top line not so tops but a win is a win.

Maybe a few too many penalties for a a 7-3 win. Gotta stay out of the box.

Well here’s to hoping they have a bounce back game Sat night and revert to inconsistency. Should be fun.

Mony and Johnny lives just got a lot harder. Going to have to work for them Millions now. Tkachuck I think will like that style of coaching. Now just need a trade for a sniper and I think we would be in good shape.

Better get a large pile of “hurt feelings reports” ready. This smells like the Oilers 2 years ago when they brought in Hitch. Hope you guys have better results.

Another problem is that Pizza Boy just brought in a coach that is a better GM than him.

Damn it. Really. They couldn’t have waited till Sunday for this move.

Much needed move for sure. Guess he didn’t like watching the Flames lose either.

Should provide a bit of a spark.

No surprise, thought Ward would be gone as soon as they got home from the road trip after Ottawa blew them out, they must not have had Sutter committed yet so had to keep Ward around for another couple day's.

Care to list any of his accomplishments as a GM? He was always a much better coach than GM. He wasn't GM in LA when they won their cups.

Sounds like he needs 4 negative tests and already had 1. I'm sure will get better answers once Treliving talks to the media.

So first couple thoughts, and they have talked about it on 960 this morning. Tkachuck, I feel if he was told to Tone things down, Sutter is going to tell team, he's not to change and your to board the friendship tour train. Second is Bennett, he is a Sutter style player. If Ward and Bennett were butting heads, will Bennett retract the ask to move? Also could Sutter pull playoff Bennett out and have that in regular season? Monny and Johnny in for a rough go here. If they thought Hartley was a tough coach, hahahahaha

I know Johnny is supposed to be the Flames poster child but doesn’t it seem like his time has come and gone ?

I really think it’s time to move on from this player. There is no doubt that he can play at an elite level and last year was probably a one off. He is producing good numbers this year but with multiple cracks in the Playoffs and mediocre numbers to show for it is he really the future for the Flames.

At 27yo and his contract running out next season do the flame really want to try and re sign this player ? Will he sign ?

His numbers are good this year and he could bring good value in the trade market no doubt. If they trade him this year they can shop him to all teams. If they wait till next year he has a M-NTC and the Flames options become very limited.

IMO it’s time to part ways with Johnny.

While they are at it maybe time to strip the “C” from Gio and place it on Chuckies chest. To me this may be a controversial move but it would work two fold.

It would reign Chucky in a bit as he would have more accountability to his team mates as a leader and make him think about some of his on and off ice decisions but at the same time allow him to rally the troops to battle.

Secondly with Chucky leading the way doesn’t it lend its hand to a new identity for the Flames about being hard to play against. In your grill kinda mean dirty hockey...

Tre needs re define this club’s identity. Coaching change is a positive step forward now it’s time to take care of the locker room cry babies.

This is coming from an Oilers fan, your team just got a boost of nitrous with the hiring of DS

I agree with everything you wrote. And Sutter may be just the guy to get these things done too.
