Personally was happy to see Ekblad win as he deserved it. Doughty was robbed. Lady Byng, who really cares who wins that. Carey obviously deserved every award he walked away with as he had a season for the ages.
As for the host/presenters, I cannot comment as I only saw the last 45 minutes or so and did so with the volume turned off and sounds like I made the right choice there.

Gio wants 9 million per season. Do you think the flames will pony up?

Not even close. That was Bartkowski. Doggie Hamilton was from the Kessel draft pick trade. Huge acquisition for flames. 6'5 right handed D with skill and speed. Awesome day

Boston offered him a great deal of $ according to Don Sweeney, but was turned down ! If Gio wants the big $ and Hamilton wants the big $, then you still have to sign Johny and Mony, that sounds like salary cap issues very shortly !! I think Hamilton wants around 8 million a year !! If you pay these guys what they want you lose depth ! I think Gio is the guy that has to go if you want a decent 3rd and 4th line ! He's older and The Flames played well without him when he got hurt. It was a great deal for the Flames but they must have seen the $ this guy wants for Boston not to sign him ! IMO he was there best D-Man !

Where did you hear that? Pretty sure he isn't getting several million more than Doughty, Letang, Keith, Subban, Hedman, Buffylein (sp), Shattenkirk, Karlsson, Burns, OEL, etc. All players that are arguably better players than Gio.

Just google it. And Hamilton is wanting 7.5 million per season.

Hamilton Trade
Incredible! What a steal. It will be really interesting to see if Hamilton lights up McDavid on the first chance he gets. 6.5 and over 210 and only 22. What the hell were the Bruins thinking? This puts Calgary in a whole other league now. It is not a stretch to say they have 4 of the best defensemen in the league with Gio and Brody and in my view Russell being totally under rated.
They might have come in via the back door to the playoffs this past year but this coming year, this trade has them going through the front door!

Hamilton legit #1 defenceman on 25 teams, Treliving for mayor!!!! Question is did Dougie want out of Boston or did they want him gone, or did Boston just want the picks that bad ?

I can think of about 10 defensemen off of the top of my head that are better than Hamilton. It's an absolutely great pick up, but he's not one of the top 5 defensemen in the league. I'm not even sure he's a significantly better defenseman than Brodie, who certainly isn't in the top 5, or 10 for that matter.

Its probably nothing but....
“It was surprising,” said one NHL assistant GM. “It’s obvious there’s something going on that we don’t know about. From what I’ve heard behind the scenes, his teammates don’t like him. I heard he’s a loner and sort of an uppity kid, and that his teammates don’t like him and it was unanimous.”

The Flames are my #2 team, I'm very happy and impressed with the trade. Just pointing out that he's certainly not one of the top 5 dmen in the league.
