Hire Mark Messier for HR in the dressing room during intermission. I heard he on more than one occasion got ahold of a player who was floating, not doing their jobs and more than just words were shared. Or rest his soul, Dave Semenko.

You can toss out all the names of various hockey minds you want, but at the end of the day they have to want to come and be involved with a club that has been gifted numerous first round draft picks with nothing to show for it.

I wonder why Hitchcock didn’t stay? I remember the fan base chirping that with Connor plus once the new building is built, it won’t be hard to attract players and personnel to want to be here. Im still waiting for the free agents to line up to play here. Duncan Keith past his expiry date is hardly impactful.

If any of you seen Antonio Brown lose his mind today, you will get this. I thought was funny.

Big difference, Brown was playing for the defending champs at the time. McDavid never will, at least not in Edmonton.

OHHH NOOOOO He cleared waivers and is now in the AHL... So does a AHL salary count against a NHL Cap? So confused by all this.

Depends on if it's a One Way or Two Way contract. It appears Neal's was a One Way contract, so it still counts against the Blue's cap.

Like Friedman mentioned today, Oilers missing the playoffs is not an option this year.

Wasn't there a team not so many years ago that actually signed Neal for the player himself (not to shed a bad contract)?

Yup, and once they realized their mistake they were still able to dump him off on a team, that to this day still pays some of his salary, and get a better performing player in return who gives an honest effort every night.

Kinda like making a silk purse out of a sows ear. Apologies to sows ears everywhere for comparing them to James "the real fraud" Neal .

Kinda applies to Looch I'd say. Pick and choose when he gives an effort for a paycheque. Doesn't work in the real world

When hasn't he given an effort this year? On pace for almost 22 goals this season while playing down on the 3rd and 4th line. Not sure there's any Soilers on the 3rd or 4th line with those stats.

Maybe not worth what he's being paid, but a far better player in the dressing room than Neal could ever hope to be. To dump Neal and get that in return, it's a win no matter how you slice it.

Very few players in the league that don't look like they may be taking a night off every now and then. It can be a tough grind. The problem with Neal was trying to get him to take a night ON every now and then.

Hey, I've missed the first four minutes of the game tonight, how many goals are the Oilers down?

Oil are undefeated when scoring first.
Too bad the other team has scored first 19 of 23 games….

I want to see a tight D and control entry into the offensive zone.

Not a good start with a delay of game.

Let’s beat this penalty then build on the momentum.

Sloppy penalty kill but lucky so far.

Killed the penalty. Now let’s get some offence going.

Good penalty kill though. Rangers couldn’t generate anything.

Rangers are bullying the Oilers. Really hammering the body.

Trade Koskinen, prospect and a first round pick for a legitimate starting goalie. Fire Schwarz, Mike Smith can retire and be the goal tending coach, Skinner can be back up to starting goalie. This performance we have now is getting stupid
