Someone back in this subject mentioned the color packet that was added to the margarine to make it yellow. The packet looked like white stop sign with a coin like patch of coloring in the center. When purple gas was way cheaper than regular gas, my grandfather saved those packets and added to the gasoline to make it that orangy-yellow color. Sometimes to make process easier; the purple gasoline was put in clear glass jugs and put out in the sun, so the purple would bleach out. Purple gasoline was only for agricultural purposes, not road vehicles. The cops would do spot checks in towns, at weddings, funerals and wherever.

Maybe that is what killed my Grandpa. He used to drink it religiously in the morning.

And the Coca Cola dispensing coolers, about the size of a medium upright refrigerator , Painted Coca Cola Red with a little metal handle you would push down after you installed .25 Cents in the slot, and suddenly thundering down inside a Small bottle of Ice Cold Coke would arrive at a hole near the bottom of the fridge,,

Anyone ever have anything made from carob as a clearly inferior chocolate substitute? I seem to recall my mom getting it briefly in the '70's....
