Thumbs up

Myself always had a truck and motorbikes until black Betty showed up and found a place in the garage...windy mountain roads, top down during the summer...fun times.

Lived on Vancouver Island. Very British. A Vauxhaul, then A Triumph Spitfire, after that a couple of Triumph GT6's. We learned to deal with Lucas, Prince of Darkness!

Yup, I agree 100%. Bought one in '79 and just sold it 2 years ago.
Still having second thoughts about letting it go.

Mine was a 52 Studi, not much different. 50 Bucks. had an oil leak, so I carried a gallon of that remanufactured oil which I bought from a service station near the zoo. Very small engine, but can't remember if it was a 4 or 6 cylinder.

'60 yellow English Ford Zepher. Crumpled fender, terrible machine, never did get any reliability, hyd clutch. Found a '56 Ford Fairlane in '66, great car - 292TBird, 4 barrel, dual robin egg blue with white and chrome, skirts. Put a sleeve over a hole in exhaust pipe on one side, with a choke wire. When I needed noise, open up the hole. In hospital park lot, '80, while birth of 2nd, there sits the car. Rusty but couldn't buy it back.

1971 Datsun 510 with a 1.6L and a manual gearbox. And a coupe to boot! Lots of fun for a 14 year old. I drove it until the timing chain stretched.

1966 Ford Falcon. Dad took it in on a trade for a vacuum and gave it to me. I drove it for 3 months and traded it for a case of beer. So sad

My prize first purchased car was a 72 Firebird Formula 455HO. Had the real header side pipes and I loved the puffs of blue flame coming out of them on the downshift.

Any Calgary boys remember the “circuit” downtown everyone drove showing off their cars? Fun times !!!

Dodger.

1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Brougham

Bought it from my mothers' boss for $250 in 1990 (~150k KMs but mint cond, he gave me a smokin' deal !), sold it a year later for $1000...
The car drove/rode like a Cadillac, and had super-plush velour interior !

Yeah i remember the circuit well. From mid sixties and on. '55 Shoebox(Chevy) Belair, Skyline blue and India ivory. Lowered with skirts etc. Very mild custom. 265 3 spd standard. '53 Merc Sunvalley. Thats the half glass roof one 2 door hardtop. Flathead with 3 on the tree. Black Cherry Red fair amount of custom work and lowered etc.

89 Nissan pickup. No model name, just "pickup " on the pink slip. 4 speed manual, regular cab, 6 foot box and no tach. Bought it for $400 not working, fixed it in the guy's driveway. Taught myself to drive stick on the way home with no signal lights and only highbeam headlights. Drove it until the oil pan opened up on the highway and the engine blew. I loved that truck.

Drove my dads 89 Ford ranger til I left home. First vehicle I bought was a 95.5 Toyota Tacoma. Loved that truck and never intended to sell it but a incoming child has s way of changing things. My wife (gf at the time) would not believe me in anyway that people would routinely yell at me at stop lights and approach me in parking lots to buy my truck. I was out of town for work for a short time (maybe 9 - 10 days) and left her the keys for z reason I cannot remember. When I returned and she picked me up and handed me 2 business cards and a chunk of a Tim hortons cup that had a number scribbled on it all from people interested in buying the truck.

My FIL has owned relatively uninspiring vehicles since I've known him, '98 caravan, '05 CR-V, a few GMC 1500's etc. I told him a Miata would likely be the most fun vehicle he's driven in the last 15 years. He asked "why is that".

Is that a RF?
