The guy who broke the record was Gerry Ouellette, he shot a perfect 600-60Xat 50 meters in the smallbore.
His gun was broken in shipping so he had to borrow Gil Boa's rifle ( Boa came third) A Russian took the silver.
However, when the range was re-checked for distance for the world record, it was found that it was mere inches short , so the record was disallowed - the gold medal stood however.
