This system is actively working right now and producing ready to use carbon neutral fuel at less then 1$ per gallon.
Takes Co2 out of the air as well.

I just need too know how much energy it takes to run the plant. They suggest wind or solar..... I wanna know how much power....

Neat that’s it’s developed in Calgary.
Whoops, I totally thought you were talking about "air cars". I just watched the vid you posted - looks pretty interesting with some promise. The vid was uploaded in 2015 - I wonder what they've been up to since.

When I mentioned the cities out east they were in a deep freeze of -35c range
not 15F like most ecar sites will quote their 20% loss. I can guarantee its more than 20% when its -35C outside and you best not run out of battery at that temp.
Even this chart doesn't go that cold buy you can see where the line is heading.

Interesting video but it feels almost like a promotional video. Definitely Jay Ingram narrating.

Default Storage

On the larger stage: "green" energy storage is the elephant in the room. https://dothemath.ucsd.edu/2011/08/n...sized-battery/ That said, I hope they figure out some better way to store green power for base load requirements. It seems like cheating to use the existing grid as the storage vehicle.

And..... if anyone dares to google things counter to what they want to fit in their ‘convlusion’.

Simple coffee table talk google search

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.pock...he-air.amphtml

Looks like the charging-range-capacity problems could be pretty easily solved...

Guess there’s hope.

I think it’s important for us to get ahead of the big change in energy systems coming.

"On another note, a friend of mine works at the drivetrain R&D department at Mercedes. He's told me that within 10 years, it's likely we'd be seeing fuel over electric drivetrains. So, a diesel, gas, LNG, etc., engine would drive a generator to power electric motors running the wheels. He told me that with that tech that he's working on, 500 hp in a S classe doing 50-60 mpg was more than possible. In theory, a car like that should be easier to fix than the current crop of cars. "
That's actually how the current BMW I3 REX works and it seems to have quite the following. Use the battery for your every day running around and then if you need more distance it kicks in a 2 cylinder (from their GS motorbike) that runs a generator.

Lets compare our travel options shall we,

Combustion engine= "Gas'N'Go" (5mins)
Electric Motor = "Charge'N'Wait" (3+hrs)

So, what are you going to be busying yourself with
for 3+hrs at some far away country gas station with? Your 400 mile trips just got approx 6-7hrs longer.

Electric plants changing over to natural gas.

Natural gas is popular right now, because it's plentiful, cheap and supposedly cleaner. The "environmentalist" are already attacking the use and demand will raise the price. Sorry, nothing to be gained there.

Gas will be regarded as "the good old days" just you watch.
Batteries will never match the consistency of the engine in the Real World.
Just defrosting the windows or maxing the A/C will be a 10% drop before the
junker gets down the street. Say what you like, I have no faith in this shiny pony era.

Default Tesla versus Polar Vortex

Sounds like a lot of unhappy owners.

What did someone expect would happen when you added cold to a big battery?
