Yes, I have thought about that and I find it highly unlikely, to say the least. Do you realize the logistics involved behind something like that with no one blowing the whistle on what was happening or has since happened? It's not a simple matter of Harper picking up the phone and calling the Commish in order to get something like that done. Why would Harper want to shoot himself in the foot and tick off gun owners and the rural vote that he depends on anyway? It makes no sense whatsoever.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but how about this one.......Last weekend the Liberals had their party convention and one of the resolutions that was presented was to adopt Aussie type gun control. A few days following that, news of this RCMP gun confiscation came out. Hmmmmm......the timing is suspicious.
The RCMP have the authority to do what they did and they operate independently of the elected government in that capacity. C'mon, let's keep things real here, eh?
