I used the same load for large primer, except CCI 450's of course.

I sized, trimmed and stainless tumbled 100 used 7mmremmag cases for a friend, it sure surprises you, when you bring a 7mmremmag die down on 300wm case that was mixed in. They look shiny new now, when he supplies the bullets, I will load them.

I just placed an order for 5 boxes of Barnes from Prophet River, seemed like they had lots in stock. $63/box is more than I'd like to pay, but it's better than the $73 at Canadian Tire I guess.

No actual reloading this weekend but I made a few steps in cleaning up my garage, in doing so I found a couple sets of ammo boxes I bought at Princess Auto a couple years ago. The two big ones worked out perfect for holding my JJ Lo front rest in one, and the rear bag and a few accessories in the other. I lined the boxes with foam from PA as well. They turned out really good, very manageable.

Also, I finally found a use for one of the Lapua brass boxes I've been holding on to, nice holder for my neck turning equipment. So often I hold on to this type of thing, see it in the cupboard year after year and wonder why I still have it, then something like this happens and I feel sane again for awhile.

Looking good , nice to be organized. I see quite a few guys using the Milwaukee stack on boxes. They are called "Packout Modular storage system". Good handle and wheels to haul your stuff back and forth from vehicle to benches.

Loaded 250-3000 ammo for my savage 1899 250-3000 , 87 gr Speer , 36 gr CFE 223 , win mag primer . I tried some cci 200 primers and had one hang fire out of approx 30rounds fired . It’s too bad my older eyes don’t see the sights as they should. It’s a cool little rifle and caliber

Default New to me 648

Monday I received a Husqvarna 8mm FN 98 from InterSurplus. I always thought the FN's were small ring Mausers, But after trying to mount a scope on this rifle, unsuccessfully I discovered it was a large ring Mauser. Anyhow after inspecting and tuning this rifle up a bit, I took it to the range to sight it in. It shot great with both the iron sights and the scope. So over the last couple days I've been working some tung and teak oil into the stock. Great buy for $295.

Loaded 33 rounds of 308 win for the fiancés rifle. She has a Suffield hunt this year so this gives her some rounds to shoot right before we go.

That rifle (Tikka T3) is just wicked accurate and deadly. The 2 deer it has taken were very quick. I believe I bought it off this forum from tikka250.

A friend sold me a pair of Graham wind flags, turns out they are brand new, the tails haven't even been installed yet.

I'm going to try and make some more over the winter, though I've heard it really isn't worth it. I find that hard to believe, each one retails for about $100US, so I think it's worth a try.

Default Changed powders in PPU ammo to save money

Yesterday I received the dyes for my 8mm Mauser. Since all my reading looking for loads for this rifle, I discovered that PPU ammo is very anemic, So last night I pulled the bullets on a box and a half of this ammo, and replaced the powder with H4895 which for me is plentiful. This saves me the bullets ,primers and brass. I loaded these cartridges from 45.5 to 50 grs 1/2 gr apart, using 3 bullets per group.
My plan is to go to the range and shoot each group of 3 onto a separate target. I will be looking at the size of each group and it's distance from my point of aim, which should give me a ladder for comparison.

Yes we found it worked well with the initial loading about 1/2 grain under max from the Lee manual haven't shot it past 500 though with adjusted loads though .
I have great expectations for it however .

What I did reloading today...
Got frustrated
Loading TTSX 165s over 61 gr Super P (Barnes suggested max)
Last week started playing with jump
found what looked like a good choice (90 thou), three shots, vertical separation .2235 @ 100 yds. Horizontal abt .35 - nice group

Loaded up 10
Seating done with an RCBS micrometer seater and measured with a comparator.
Two groups of 5
Groups don't quite look like buckshot, but disappointing none the less
Group 1 Vert 1 3/4"
Group 2 Vert 2"
Let the barrel cool 15mins between groups

Chrono'd them as well
Book says I should be getting about 2850, I'm getting avg 2689 with max spread of 43 fps

Shot some factory 180s to check the chrono.
Three shots touching vert spread .60 horizontal .35
Barnes says 2750, I was getting 2715 avg - maybe the barrel is a little slow or the chrono is a bit off but not 160 fps...

Any suggestions?(aside from "why not shoot factory ammo")

Hard to tell what the issue is, possibly neck tension?
Same load for sure?
As far as the velocity difference goes, tge velocity thst the manual gives may very well be in the barrel they are using and the altitude they are testing at compared to yours.
It is not uncommon to see 100FPS or better between different loads

My apologies to PPU, Their 196gr SP ammo is not anemic, The velocity of these factory round was 2490 fps. I needed 47 grs of H4895 to match this. In my tests this 47 grns was my most accurate load, by group size and ladder test.

Today I loaded 100 rounds of 7mmremmag, for a friend. His new rifle hated every factory load, and another handload, spraying them all over 2" at 100m, but I came up with a load that groups 5 into 1", in the rifle.
