It’s still early enough that if a few teams have little run of bad luck and a few have a little run of good luck, the shoe could be on the other foot 2 or 3 weeks from now.
One day at a time. Only 1/3 of the way into the season.

Wow they look bad though. Can't believe the turnovers. Two feet either side of either blueline. Like peewee basics. Bobble the puck with McDavid headed your way in full flight. Oh my. We'll be needing to send Bessie Texas Mickeys this goes on much longer. Methinks Tre would have liked experience at the head coach position about now.

I think it runs deeper than a "little run of bad luck".

-We've got seven 20+ goals/season guys on the team and are second last in GF in the league;
-I believe, with Markstrom and Tanev replacing Smith and Brodie/Hamonic, we're a better team the 2018/2019 team which won the western conference regular season. Where Frolik (and his 34 pts), Dalton Prout, Curtis Lazar, Hathaway, Jankowski, and Czarnik that critical to team success? Are half those guys still playing?
-Maybe I'm biased, but on paper I think we've got one of the best top six in the league. Didn't watch the game, only saw the highlights, but almost every Oil goal they showed, guy is standing out front, all alone. Usually with both Dmen on the other side of the ice;
-Ward looks rough. Don't think that stress is from bad luck.

Yes I do.... just fun watching the mini dumpster fire. And actually tonight was a worst case scenario for the Flames in the Jets and Canucks game as the Jets got 2 and the Canucks got 1.

I think the Flames just have a ton of distractions right now.

Gio probably feels he is losing the room to Thachuk
Thachuk doesn't know if he is pushing the envelope with Gio and whether he is an elite player of Matt Cooke clone.
I don't even think Johnny likes playing in the NHL
Rittich confidence is shot. 25% season done and he doesn't have a win.
Bennett.. enough said.
Expansion draft.
And other crap we don't know.

Calgary doesn't need a re-build, they need a new leadership core. Leadership now a days isn't verbal, it is leading by example and being the hardest worker on the ice every night. A dare say it took Draisaitl a few years to figure that out and he still slips some nights.

I would keep Thachuk, Lindholm, Backlund, Mangi-a-whatever, Dube, and Robinson up front and Andersson, Hanifin, Tanev, Valimaki on the back end and Markstrom.

I think Gio, Johnny, and Monahan have had long enough in Calgary to get it done if they were going to.

Rittch played good enough on Friday the team should have got him that win. We can't even get Markstrom a win at the moment. Not going to far when we can only muster 1 goal a game. Even Ottawa puts more goals up and that spells diester for us when we play them.

So game day again ugh, here I sit again thinking tonight will be better, but with this crew who knows, and playing against Mattews on a tear, it could be ugly. Muzzin is out so we don't even have that to look forward to. Probably a good thing, as we need to focus on goals and trying to win, as opposed to chasing him around for some revenge.

They boys on 960 were talking about defense and Markstom, who's fault the 7 tally was, Markstom can't be superman everyday, every good player is eventually going to have a bad game, some he should have had, some the defense totally left him out to dry, etc., maybe I missed it, but I wanted to text in "Who cares who the 7 tally was, they got 44 SOG, on Koskinen with his pre-game sub 0.900 SA%, and scored 1 goal!".

Yup, can't hurt our chances with more Bogosian, less Muzzin and Hyman and Thorton out as well.

Decent start and Rittich playing well so far. Big game for him if he stays steady.

Tkachuk with his 100 th goal, lets not let it go to waste. Keep going, I can't complain about the effort tonight so far anyways.

How did Bennett miss the empty net??
Good penalty killing tonight, at least.
