The Cnuckleheads may have a better chance at going deeper if they don't play Looo to much. Young Schneider is pretty solid and the team plays well in front of him, but he has no playoff experience either, especially when compared to how solid Kipper usually is in Playoffs.......

Someone will be flying a new Avatar regardless....

This one is worth watching....Will stay tuned.

Considering the starting goalies playoff history maybe Schneider vs Karlsson would be the way to go!! Kipper beat in the first round every time except once and Luongo lost in the second round every time. Maybe time to try something new.

Trade deadline day. aww yeah. Got the day off work, so momma gets the day off from the baby and I am hanging with my little girl watching sportscenter until the trades are done.

Should be an interesting day, some big names floating around, and there are always a couple shocker moves. anyone else watching today?

So boys 'n girls........thoughts?

I think the Flames played it pretty smart today by adding a bit of depth.

As for the Oil, I never really was a big fan of Penner, and liked what the received in return. I'm glad it was he who was moved rather than Hemsky. Hemmer and Hall really seem to have some good chemistry happening right now. The future does look bright.

Not suprised that Richards didn't go though.

Teubert is a good one. When we were in ottawa at the world juniors and the Swedes were acting tough, was just hoping Colton would grab one by the throat and lay a beat down on em. Boy can go if need be. Oilers did very very well on that trade. Played with Eberle in Regina.

Not too sure about adding Modin. he is way past his prime and I think they had enough grit. Just not sure what he will bring to the table for them. Good move by the oilers in the penner trade. The extra 1st rounder is a good asset and teubert will be a good depth d-men in the future. From what I am hearing is he is decent but not a top 3 on a good team. who knows how he will develop though.

Good assessment... Modin is a 13th forward depth guy for a playoff run in case of injury IMO will it help? Guess we know in 20 games

Listened to a Hemsky interview last night. He repeatedly referred to the Oilers as "they". He's gone. And if I were GM I'd make sure of it.

don't think they'll miss him much...the last thing you need on a young team is a 27 year old goof that makes 4.5 mil a year and floats 99% of the time....was at a game last weekend...pretty sad to watch that goof!!!!

He was your leading scorer last year and had 22 points more then anybody..

This year he is top 3 and only a couple points from first so what does this say about the rest of your team

agreed, penner was making some improvements..but he was also getting older and was expensive!.

watching the youngens last night against the preds showed that once these boys grow into men they will be even more of a handful.

I am not having any delusion of grandeur...I hope for the best but prepare for the worst lol...but boy can hall, eberle and pajaarvi (sp) fly out there. they just have to learn how to control the puck and how to finish. Oh and some real defensemen would help as well...not just forwards that can skate backwards.

When Sather traded BJ MacDonald to the Canucks after he scored 46 goals, and everyone freaked...he said " a fire hydrant could score 46 goals playing with Gretzky"...much the same scenario.....if he doesn't have a set up man (plus no heart) he can plant his ass 20' from the net all night.....
