I had no idea Zojirushi made travel mugs. When we lived in Japan that brand was the go-to for rice cookers and hot water on demand units. We've had this rice cooker for over 15 years and it still works flawlessly to this day. Guess I know what I'll be putting on my Christmas list!

On a related note, this stuff is amazing at turning your thermos or mug shiny on the inside again. I had a Stanley thermos that was mostly dark brown on the inside from 4 or 5 years of coffee. Filled it 80% full of boiling water and dropped a tablet in and it started foaming, left it for an hour, and it brought all the gunk out. Looked brand new on the inside.

I use half a tablet for stained travel mugs and it works equally great.

I’ve been using dishwasher detergent. Just make sure you use hot water.

I have been using Polident to clean my travel mugs. Cheap and it works pretty good.

I grabbed one off Amazon a few years ago called "Iron Flask" and love it. Couldn't give a real accurate time on how long before it goes from hot to warm, I don't pay a whole lot of attention, but it was still hot after 3 hours in the blind over the weekend. It's luke warm on my drive home, 10 hrs after pouring.

If you give it a shot, go with the black (flip) lid with the rubber bottom. Not the model with the clear lid.

Oxyclean plus boiling water and the gunk literally runs out of them - the stainless ones at least. Removes the stains very well!
