The following was from the winning entry....

That is a very generous offer you have put up. Christmas this here will be very quiet... instead of usually having over 100 field days a year at work, this year i have had 8... At least I still a job, and greatful for that.
I have 2 young boys, and the older one, about to turn 11 is crazy about the outdoors. Day after day he talks about wildlife, hunting, trapping and living in the wild!! He got to experience the harvesting big game this year with myself, and the smile on his face will be something I never forget. He always wants to shoot, but his little BB gun just doesnt cut it for shooting anything besides popcans.

We would be thankful to have our name entered into your draw.

Good Luck to the lucky winner.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. Please know you will be putting a huge smile on some little boy/girls face this year.

Great Job guys.....

And his reaction....

NO WAY!!! Im shaking right now reading this. You wouldn't believe the smile that will be on my boys face... This is so cool. So grateful, thankful.
Last night I had my boys go through all their old toys and we will be donating them tonight to a couple families in need. I will give you a call very soon. Thank you again so much. I still cant believe it.

Very nice meeting you today Mike. What a great thing you organized here. Father sounds very excited, and that kid is in for a christmass he won't forget.
After you told me about the extras that all the members here chipped in, I was tempted to write a letter of my own. lol. Congrats to everyone involved. Job well done.

I had seen this thread, but hadn't opened it until now. Very cool that you started this, Lakeside -- and that Whelen contributed as well...and great to see that you've made one young man VERY happy!

Thumbs up Santa's sleigh

Well A few elves are loading up the sleigh as we speak. Got a Box sent on it, hope the weather holds out for his sleigh ride, couple F-18's to escort in case pirates try any funny business!

"Elf on probation " Leroy Spikebuck drew the short straw ( wonder how that happened!!) so he is on his way down south on his beat up Yammy trike to deliver the present from the ft. Mac depot!
Gonna be a dangerous trip seeing how he is alone - no F18 escort but he does have his survival kit along and his trusty '94 Winchester lever in the scabbard and he knows how to use it!

A few of you have been asking if the little man got everything before the big day so I sent a PM to our winner to see when things arrived. Once I know I will post it here. Thanks.

Ok guys here is an update and a copy of a PM that was sent to me....

"Hello,

Our Christmas is one we will never forget, all because of you guys. I hope everything is well with you and your family and you had a great Christmas as well.

I just realized that i hadn't sent a thank you to two of the guys that donated and i feel like such an ass.
(they have been sent now)

I think we received everything except maybe a box of ammo, it was hard to keep track as the mailman just kept bringing stuff!

The smile my boy had on his face Christmas morning is one i will never forget. You guys are the real meaning of Christmas. He was so thankful and told me many times to make sure i said thank you to you all.

I think we fired off a few hundred rounds on Sunday!

I don't like to put pictures of my kids on a public forum, but if you don't mind i would like to send you a couple pictures and a video. I will text these to you if that is ok. If you have any way of passing it on to the other guys please feel free. I would like them all to see.

You guys are awesome.

We are so thankful.

All the best to you and your family in 2016."

I will try to PM the awesome pics but I am not that savvy with the computer.

Thanks again to all and a job well done.

L.S.
