Ya, we aren't coming home......
The views are unbelievable, the weather is amazing, 82 at noon, in the rain, at night, incredible.
Anyone like Hawaii 5-0? We were oa set, right off the beach, shook hands with Danno, he took my camera and got a pic of him and I, I got great video of an episode they were filming...
We are having breakfast at a restaurant ON the beach, birds pick up what you drop, and EVERYONE here is so friendly.
9000 pics to follow......
I saw a collection agency, going to go hand in my resume.....

Now you see why we love Hawaii?
Have you been to the north shore?
The temple?
Have you been sailing or snorkeling yet?
While your handing in your resume can you get me a job too?

Lol@good waves. What I hear is hawaii is currently under mandatory evacuation and is more than very likely to be underwater within 60 mins.

They would have moved Ken and his family to the highest levels of their complex.
Just checked the waters and so far all is still very calm.
They are saying that the waves are only expected to be 6 feet above sea level.
here is a live video of the water in hawaii.

Ya pretty slow and calm right now. I heard mandatory evacuation? Maybe that was on the ocean front only? They called for a possible 6 foot wave and at that power (its not like your average 6 foot wave you would surf on), would have easily laid a beating on Hawaii.

So far all is good.
Just minor waves coming in.
If you recall that last tsunami that hit a couple years ago, where the water receeded then gushed back in, that has been happening, however it hasnt breached the beach yet.
None of the island have reported any damage as of yet.
The fire department was using their helicopter to try and get people off the beaches in waikiki area. As some were out on the retaining walls.
There are a couple retaining walls, that provide a calm area for children to swim, the water has crested over then receeded back down. Unlike Japan where hundreds are reported dead.
If you want upto date information here is the live reports http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com
directly from Hawaii, it appears mainlander news is full of false information today.
At this point I would say Ken and his family are NOT in harms way. They are just getting a very Hawaiian (or islander) experience. This is something the state of hawaii is prone to, however they have fantastic evac plans in place and everyone from the youngest to the oldest islander knows what to do. The hotel staff ensure that visitors are well cared for and keep them informed.

Just got into the hotel after being on the beach, the reef was showing for the first time in 40 years, highest and lowest the water has been in the same time frame. We saw waves coming over the breakwater, got dozens of pictures, and we are not completely in the clear, hoarding begun last night, the gas stations were empty by mdnight, we are still under advisory. The was damage in the harbor, many boats damaged when the pier floated away. We let the hotel know last night that 3/4 of us are first responders, and were up until 3 am.
The are many many freaked out Asians runing around, poor people.
More to follow....

From what I can see from checking all the webcams I could find on each island, the only one with any serious damage so far is The big Island.
Ken thankully is not on that island.
People are back out and about in Oahu, Businesses are starting to reopen.
There are people out on the beaches and even out swimming.

Glad we are not in Japan.
That country is being destroyed. One earthquake/aftershock at a time.
