Personally, I don't think they have a clue where they are. In a similar case, the RCMP looked all over Canada, based on sightings, only to find the suspect just down the road from where the crime occurred.

I hope they get found so many can stop looking over their shoulder and so the RCMP doesn't spend a lot of resources endlessly searching.

Did anyone find it weird they had a police sketch artist draw up the face of the old guy that got murdered?
Then I saw an Australian news feed that said they talked to someone that drove past and saw short stocky guy argueing with the Australian couple.

Dawson Creek is about a 9 hour drive from Clearwater, so a bit more than just down the road.

I would agree though that the authorities probably have no idea where the two are right now...

Default the challenge...

The challenge the police face is what, and how much information to release to the public. In today's world of social media, the suspects will have access to all released information just like the rest of us, making it much easier for them to stay a step ahead.

Yup they made it as far as Manitoba for sure. OR their car was stolen and some other lowlifes lit it up.

Highly doubt they are using their cellphone, that would be like shooting flairs straight up in the air. They could be tracked with ease.

I think they either had a second vehicle waiting when they burnt the first one and could be as far as the maritime's or they are hanging from a tree close by the burned out vehicle. Nobody is hanging out in that terrain, the bugs alone would have drivin them to madness within hours of being in the bush.

If they were in the bush RCMP plains with FLIR would of picked them up last night.

One way or the other they are long gone from the Gillam area.

As for having protection at the ready, which is a no brainer for anyone with a brain would be a sure thing, except for CBC followers, once again I read the comments knowing they would just further make me realize why hate the CBC and it's followers. Apparently guns are bad and their only use is for killing other people

If I ever spent another day in northern Manitoba or northern Ontario's bush it's too soon.

My arms and legs are covered with scars from those EVIL little black flies.

My friends asked me if I was on a meth bender when I was there from all the sores. And that was wearing a head to tow mosquito net and dousing ourselves with bug dope ever half hour.

Mosquito's don't bug me at all after dealing with black flies, I call them Satans spawn.

Where they ditched the vehicle isn’t to far from the railroad tracks. Guessing they saw a train being built or stopped and hopped it south. Good thing is if they didn’t have another vehicle, they’re not carrying a bunch of ammo. Probably 100 rounds max. Which will give them about a 1 minute fire fight with the police.

Not sure if there are those tracks are still in use, however. A lot of tracks are being decommissioned and pulled up in places.

Makes me wonder, for the people in Manitoba where these killers may be, if you look out the window of your home and see these two guys trying to break into your house, what would the RCMP recommend you do? Defend yourself or call the cops and patiently wait for them to arrive? ( obviously I know what I’d do)

By the time that burnt-out Rav4 was found they could have been 100’s of kilometres away. There’s as good a chance they are in Fort Mac as there is Gilliam.

While not much they have done so far makes any sense, to assume they are completely stupid would be wrong...

I remember them wanting to question a guy that may have been talking to the two vacationers. Maybe it was just a coincidental encounter?
Here’s a link to the story with the bearded man and his sketch.....except for the height it actually resembles the one kid possibly?

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.insi...nk-rcmp-2019-7

As for the sketch, they did that because they could not identify the man, no ID, and no one reported missing at that point.

Were there any reports as to what became of the murdered couple's vehicle? I think we know now that the burned-out Toyota belonged to the older gentleman, but maybe the suspects now had two vehicles they were travelling in?

Best way to travel if you don’t want to be found. There’s a couple possibilities 1) They went in the bush and committed suicide. Although you’d think the dogs would have found them by now. 2) They’re hiding out in a cabin/garage/barn. 3) They had another car, although you’d think they would have needed fuel by now. 4) They broke into someone’s home and killed the owner. And are just staying in the house.

In my mind the two most likely are suicide or hoppin the train. Either way they’ll show up soon enough. They’re gonna need food or fuel if they’re still alive.

They said last night they were not in use.

Unless they are holed up in someone's basement in town they are long gone.

No way they are in the bush, the bugs would of drivin them to madness within a few hours.

The Via train still runs that route to Churchill, so the tracks must be active. Might not be any freight that moves on them though.

Worth mentioning the via train is scheduled to go through there headed north late Monday night. I also believe it stops for 30 minutes but can’t remember.
