I can assure you it isn't my blind.
The Pit Boss just let a nice deer with long G1's go, because it wasn't "big enough".
I'm still waiting on my first contestant

Yesterday was a bit of a non event, I had one WT buck cross by my blind at around 175yds. He wasn't "the" buck so I let him walk.
I also had this fellow come by.

Today was a bit frustrating. I put a buddies kid up in the one blind, while I sat the other. Wouldn't ya know it the field where the kid was sitting turned into grand central with all sorts of vehicles coming and going, the poor fellow was some upset about it. I was pretty concerned that the lease holder wouldn't say jack about all the truck traffic. I did see a lone buck at spot on 9 am, but he was just a nice up and commer. When I went to pick up the lad, I saw what all the traffic on the lease was about. A semi hauling a track hoe took the rhubarb a few days back, and of all days they decided to pull it out this morning, they had crew trucks, supervisors, low boys with hoes, you name it go up the old lease road to turn around, they had flag people and a tandem tandem bed truck to yard that mess outta the weeds.
I then invited Bushrat, to sit the one blind tonight thinking they'd be all done with the parade, wouldn't ya know it, they walked the track hoe up to the abandoned lease to wait for a low boy to haul it out. Did I mention the blind is all but 100 yds away from the abandoned lease, no body batted an eye with people taking pictures from the blind and jesturing the WT* sign.
We came this far let's stick it out.
I drive over to my blind to find the owners neighbour beating the bushes looking for their two stray dogs! Good gawd I coulda had a cry.
But stick it out range through my head, so I did.
Bushrat was first to report sightings with a doe, then a second doe.
Soon after a fawn and its mamma came out past my blind. Followed by a cute little fork horn buck, who chased mom and her kid into the bush(you bet this must be the full rut we've heard about )
Not long after 3 more girls went by.
About 15 mins later a nice tiny 4x4 came out and walked on into the south bush.
Then with mere minutes to go in the day I spot movement in the willows to my left. It's a buck! Wait there's another shape! Oooo I'd like a better look at that buck, cmon the clocks a ticking boys! Wait there's another shape.....good lord look at that buck, he's the one, let's go boys, let's go!
All three bucks emerged as a gaggle, took their sweet time to get into the lane, and for the love of Pete the one I wanted is walking shoulder to shoulder with the next biggest buck. Oh, I'm gonna stroke out.
Then they turn.
After that

That mass is what got me going.
Hopefully I can find a photographer so we can take some day time pics.

And a whopping 70 yds to the east bush line.
I've had some trail cam failures since I've put them out, but what I do have for pics, plus the deer sign holds high promise for this location.
The other location is always a winner, so here's hoping gang.
Be safe have fun, and enjoy yourselves.

He could be called a 8x5 if you were of that persuasion to counting everything you can hang a ring on.
Forked G1 on the right, plus sticker at the burel on that same side.

That isn't the blind I was sitting in when I got my deer.
Same design concept, but a different location.
Here's a pic I took about 15 mins before the boys came out.
You won't overnight in one of these 4x4 boxes. But longer sits because you aren't shivering like a dog passing a razor blade, is what it's all about.

Nice buck Dick!
I was a little jealous of your blind last night as it was a cold one in the tree stand.

This is all fine and dandy, but you can't eat horns, Richard. He might be tough and you could have had a nice meat buck. Don't know what you were thinking.

Bigger horns equals bigger meat.

I was thinking, that I've still got a Supplemental tag, and an antlerless elk tag.
So there!

I think that deer will taste pretty good, it's a younger deer. It's neck wasn't swelled up and no stinky rut smell at all. Like Richard said last night when he was gutting it, he's shot smaller bucks with bigger nuts!

He will strike out with the bat firmly on his shoulder.
I think it's the processing of the game that scares him..........
