This is worse than I thought.

I can't wait until they come around this summer - going to have a great time with the SOBs.

A rather real reflection of our situation...

I immediately told him to, "get off my property, and don't come back unless you want a severe case of summer teeth"...

Ok, I have to ask, inquiring minds want to know....what are summer teeth?

Default They just dropped by Today

Had a kid drive up to the acreage and grab a clip board and a bottle of water out of his car. I guess he figured he was going to be talking for a bit. I went out and asked what he wanted and he said he was from Vivint. I said no thanks just head on out of here and he said really and I said tome it or he'd be talking to our dogs that were barking at the front door trying to get out and check him out. He left but not before stalling his car twice while turning around ( could barely drive standard). I suspect we won't see him again or the dogs will be out without me there and I'll just watch him try to figure how to get to the front door to annoy me. It was ironic that I had just read the thread here this morning. Thanks guys.

This link provides some very good information in regards to the Fair Trading Act and cancellation:

http://www.eclc.ca/programs-services...to-door-sales/

From the link:

You do not have to give a reason to cancel the contract.

Where the seller failed to tell you about your right to cancel within 10 days, you can cancel the purchase after the 10 days up to 1 year. In other words, the salesperson must tell you that you have 10 days to cancel the purchase after you receive a copy of the contract and that you do not need a reason. You may also cancel the purchase within 1 year if the delivery of the goods is not made on the date agreed upon or the services are not started within 30 days of the delivery date in the contract. However, if you accept the goods or allow services to begin after the 30-day time period, then you may not cancel for this reason.

So this thread inspired me to try and phone to get out early... turns out our contract expires in 2020, not 2019. My options were to extend at a reduced rate, buy out the contract at 100% cost, or chive them the 15 months cancellation notice and continue to receive service until the contract expires.

I gave my 15 month notice

This is standard for most contracts of these kinds. I used another company before and it was the same as far as cancelling .
