It really is a personal choice for you and your family. I have lived in both and I would choose Edmonton... I will hopefully never live in Calgary again. In my experience, The people are more friendly in Edmonton, The river valley is nicer although the river is not. It is much easier to get around in Edmonton. My 2 cents.
