Umm.
I'm going to guess that would fall under harassment of wildlife?

Yup. Acreage idiots in Strathcona County.

They have been herded up for a couple of months now. Been about 12 around for the last couple of months pawing the hay fields and 2 -3 moose around as well.

I agree, numbers have appeared to have been way down this fall in he County. Lots of moose by me - more than I ever remember. Whitetails are down. Yotes way up.

In both cases , There is going to be ALOT of 8 foot high fencing going on if that was the solution. lol

I get phoned alot If I can come out and thin them out. I haven't yet. Freezers full anyways
I think she has the same problem

It's too bad. Deer end up damaging feed, shrubs or vehicles.

Hillbilly, the deer in your area were herded up in November.
This time of year is nothing special.

Sounds like this lady sure is though.
I live and hunt in this area, they were not in herded up in Nov or I would have taken my 3.

Unless you also sign on here as hillbilly reefer, you misinterpreted my post.

I was referring to his post.
I live and hunt strathcona as well and did in fact see a herd of 20 wt and the same in md.

Why shoot three in strathcona? The numbers are way down compared to numbers 4 years ago and prior.
When you shoot three does, you potentially kill 9 deer.

I'm sure the lady in this thread wouldn't mind that but the acreage owners need to wrap their heads around the idea of allowing hunting regularly.

Too funny, my folks are selling their place too, they only spend half the year in Canada now anyway.

100% with you on acreage (and farm/ranch) allowing regular hunting, I still have 1 neighbour with 80acres and horses who wont allow hunting because he think someone mistake his horses for moose. The moose and beaver have destroyed his fences, deer and moose eat all his hay and the coyotes keep killing his wife's cats, his 80 is a wildlife refuge.

I am seeing groups of 20 or so all over now but back in Nov/dec I could count on 1 hands the # of legal (right place, right time, right gun) I could have taken but passed on. Obviously the population is still there and the tags are still issued, I spoke to an Edmonton F&W office at a charity event last spring about the low strathcona population and why there are still 3 tags issued.....know what he said......"75% of our emails are asking the same thing or the exact opposite (not enough tags), let us (F&W) and AESRD wildlife biologists worry about the populations, we issue the tags so you hunters will harvest the animals.

You can say they have no idea on populations or they are too underfunded to manage the whole province effectively but some one has to say yes or no and I am happy for it to be them. I can choose not to harvest a legal animal but I cant hurl insult and try to take the high moral ground if buddy next to me chooses to take the same animal. The other thread on hunting morals and ethics posters are suggesting that "legal is the ground floor and hunters need to strive to be above that" I say legal is legal anything else is personal choice. The guys I hunt with wont take does, they say it's like hitting a girl, they certainly don't care if I choose to take them, they even help debone.

It's more of a waste of hay feeding horses then deer. Sell the nags and buy a quad or move to the city.

Default Problem???

I live near Hastings Lake and have been winter feeding for the 3rd winter now. It's costing me right around $100/week and I'm more than happy doing it for the poor buggers with the conditions they've had to endure recently. Population is way down for sure. Especially seeing a reduction in the upper age group of bucks the last 2 years.

Default STrathcona

I am lucky out there the closest acreage is a mile away. My place borders on a quarter that is owned by the Nature Conservacy and Al Oeming's chunk is just south.

I have been snowshoeing through everything last few weeks - hardly any deer sign. Lots of Yotes though. Me and the dog got 3 on Wednesday evening (Me - 2: dog - 1)

My suggestion for the hayless woman the OP mentions....

It may sound trivial but if she is feeding 100+ deer there is potential for several pounds of shed antlers. Fresh antler can bring 5 dollars a pound. Exceptional sets could sell for a hundred or more. It could offset some of her losses if she picked 30 -40 lbs. of dropped antlers.
