I know if I get a smoker, I won't be able to get grill marks on my steaks...but aside from that, can I cook burgers, chicken etc just as well on a traeger? Seems like Traeger is the way to go because anything I can cook on a BBQ I can cook on a traeger plus I get the added benefit of being able to smoke brisket and full birds and such?
Thanks for the help.

A Traeger will leave grill marks even more-so if you buy cast iron grills for it. I would choose any pellet grill over any gas grill forever. If having grill marks is that important look at a grill that gets hotter like a GMG, or Louisiana Grill in the same price point. The Traeger Timberline will exceed 500f but is getting rather pricey.
Also, once you learn to reverse sear a steak you won't care about the grill marks nearly as much.
