Thanks for the challenge 260. I always enjoy them.
Farthest I can shoot at my place is 245 yards so not a success but close.
2.417 - 3.08 = 2.109 / 2.45 = .86 MOA (I think)
Bone stock savage 10
Glad I got out before the cold LOL

Darren ---Don't sweat the distance if you've got less...it's just a fun Challenge and easy to convert to MOA which puts it in perspective. That's pretty decent for a no mods rig. Yep, it is nasty cold!!!! I have some fire forming to do and am not even going to bother mounting a scope...just going to run back and forth to the car

Gave it a go today at 300m, with my 6.5-284 and 300wsm. I had a decent group going with the 300 and blew it on the 7th shot. Both of these were shot off caldwell front/rear bag off the tailgate of my truck. 20 consectutive shots, cold bore shots from each rifle included in the groups.

Good job Longbomber and some nice rigs. You should get extra points today if your weather was like East of Edmonton today. When I got to Range this AM at 0930 there were two shooters braving the snow and breeze at -13C. Great to see shooters like yourself getting a bit of winter practice.

Conditions weren't that bad, temp was only -6 winds were a bit gusty. But it laid down about 3" of snow in 20 minutes. Good snow does make the winds easier to read though. Going to have to run the 300wsm again see if I can get that group down a bit. And try out a hunting rifle or two at this challenge.

Just came across this thread that someone bumped. I always enjoy seeing proof of what others are doing.
I shot these groups one cold morning back in Jan while out checking coyote snares, in a farmers field, -20C, from the drivers seat of my pickup, over the mirror, using a rangefinder for distance measurement. Just wanted to confirm where my shots were landing.
204R T3 hevi-barrel, factory except for custom stock that has been pillared and bedded. (The original stock got broken in a car wreck). 32gr Vmax, approx 4100 fps with 28.5gr RL15. Rounds were kept in an inside shirt pocket in an attempt to keep their temp closer to normal.
Sorry, not a 10 shot group but they are results that I'm kinda proud of.
Now, to get these photos uploaded

I'll try again to get these photos posted. Kicked me out last time cuz of timed out.
BTW the scope is a Leupold 4-12 x 50. Shots were all taken at max magnification.
The first pic is at 300 yds. Just under .5"
2nd pic is an overview of my 100, 200, 300 yd shots that day. All of the shots were with the crosshairs centred on my bullseye.
3rd pic is at 350 yds, I'm a little puzzled; can't understand why the spread opened up so much in just 50 yards. This is where a few more rounds might have given up a bit more info.
I understand that 10 shot groups are far and beyond more conclusive but for what I was doing that day, it gave me the confidence to shoot at a 'yote at 300 yds and be confident of a hit.

rules - read them
Another CHALLENGE brought over from CGN ... the goal being to shoot a 10 shot sub MOA group at 100yds/m.
THE RULES::::
*No Rifle, caliber, or hold restrictions.
*10 shots only per target panel.
*Post picture of your target panel with calipers bracketing the group with calculations displayed.
*Give rifle, caliber, hold details ... and post a photo if you wish.
REMEMBER, THIS IS A CHALLENGE ONLY, NOT A CONTEST...that will hopefully get shooters active now that it is getting a bit cooler. ENJOY!

aardvaark...good on you for giving it a go and it looks like the reality of a sub-MOA 10 shot group will just be a matter of you arranging the trigger time. 204 is a hot little number.

Wow, some great shooters in here. No way I can keep 10 inside 1 MOA at 300, but I'll have to give it a try and see how close I come.

Nice light load for this rifle!
I'll try to get some 300m groups next spring.

30-06 for coyote sounds like an excuse for a new rifle. Do the coyotes stay in one piece? Or do they explode into several?

I'll be on it very soon as a new too me old school 30/06 will punching holes all over the place. Ha.
Hope I can still hit a 24" pizza pan at 200 yards.
Glad to hear it's a shooters personal challange as it allows bush game Harvesters too take part.
