I have an aggressive/protective dog,(collie/ lab cross) I live on a farm. I have signs up "guard dog on duty" People that know me know my dog and respect him. If you come to my place and get out of your truck before I call him back, you might get bit. I would not put down my dog for that. I would consider putting down the idiot that got out of his truck though. Can't always blame the dog, people are not smart. Also he gets muzzled if he goes off my place, if he needs to be around people.
Your signs just ensure that you will lose the lawsuit when your dog bites someone.

I'm not talking about suing Mcdonalds because it made me fat! My sister has spent her life hiding indoors because a dog nearly ripped her face off. I think that's grounds to make someone pay don't you? But no, we didn't sue.

that's just a bad situation all around, don't know the circumstances around that so wont comment.
