No, it's that your joke wasn't funny and you're about the only reason this forum is going to the sewer. It's ok for you to be kind to others, but it may take extensive counselling for you to allow yourself.
Isn't there a feature so that I can block all of Mike's comments? Please direct me, whoever knows...edit: thank you, question answered

Wow sorry didnt know I was pulling this forum down
Have you never made a ford chevy dogde joke of some kind? Same thing happens with bows usually in fun but I guess you dont get that.
Remember when ford explorers had faulty tires where some blew up? Jokes still follow firestone and ford samething with Blowtech.

I'd be surprised if Easton didn't have an interest in that Italian plant. Easton makes a lot of carbon fibre products besides arrows and golf club shafts.

Sure, I've heard of Ford vs dodge vs gm etc. I've always found it pathetic, juvenile, and unfounded. Even as an elementary kid, all the way to the point of teaching elementary kids. Yawn. Boring. Silliness that's based on what? Some influential father/grandfather that has some strong, often prejudiced, opinion about most things that happens to bleed into the discussion of trivial matters including brands?
No thanks. I'll move on.
Now enough of me derailing...
Did the op buy a bow yet? At the sale price of that experience, it's a rip off not to buy it! Mike, maybe you should shoot one You just may like it enough to recommend getting one.

Funny as I was seriously looking at one last fall and decided to wait and see what came out in 2015. They are a nice bow no doubt.

You guys take a couple ribbing comments way to serious!

Money where your mouth is ......now what are you referring too?

Ill agree with your last comment as I already suggested that.
You will spout verbal diarrhea about equipment you have limited experience with. Throw up all those Athens notches you have on your belt. I won't hold my breath.... But hey they are the only bow to shoot.

Maybe you should remember what your role is as an Athens shooter and review your contract to see how someone in your position should act to other archers who are proud of what they buy and shoot.

I did not buy yet. Reasons I chose those 2 bows is, I have always shot Hoyt and had good luck with them. But have heard good things about the bowtechs. And my lovely wife bought me a gift cert at Jim Bows and those are two of the major brands he carries.

When did I bring up Athens. You guys seem to have me pegged as that's all I say but please tell me where I made claims or suggested they are the only bow to shoot be all end all? Seriously please tell me. I actually suggested looking at several bows.

Also where do I spout off verbal diarrhea? Making a common joke about Bowtech? Come on really get over it, it was clearly a joke and I even went on to make that clear and said how Bowtech is a great bow. Then you have to personally attack me over it?

You make it sound like I criticized someone somewhere over the equipment they shoot again this is false, otherwise please show me where this has occurred ....ever.

My Hoyt comments may have been wrong at least to some extent, its not like I made it up maliciously I have read it in several areas on the internet but I guess as the saying goes you can't believe everything you read. I still can't find anything where Hoyt claims there bows are made in the USA. Although it sounds like they do most stuff in house there is a ton of speculation that carbon risers are made out of country and Hoyt beats around the bush.
Look online there is a ton of speculation that Hoyt could easily clear up if they either could or cared too.

To the original poster sorry if my comments came across wrong they were made tongue and cheek I had no clue so many would take them so serious.

Sounds like a top notch wife you got! Both Bowtech and Hoyt make mighty fine bows. If I had to choose between the two I would probably pick the experience however you can't go wrong with either. You best bet is to go to Jimbows and have them get each bow at the correct draw length and to check that the poundage matches exactly. Shoot them both ....you will know which bow you like the most.

Good luck let us know how you make out!

Off topic here a bit but, if it's not made in Canada, what difference does it make? The U.S. is not Canada, it might as well be over seas. Point is, regardless of the label on the product, it's the quality of the product itself that makes it or breaks it. Would you buy a piece of junk made in the US instead of a quality product made in Germany just because it's made over seas? Why is buying US made better than anywhere else other than Canada? Unless of course you are an American citizen.

If where a bow is made is ones major concern don't you think APA should be the only bow to buy if you're Canadian?

The OP has the right plan, Hoyt has treated him good, bowtech is the most popular bow on the market, they're obviously doing something right, Jimbows has a reputation as being a bow shop second to non. Seems like a no brainer, head to Jimbows, bring your release and let a bow pick you.

Well to be honest you are right but I still prefer North American and much prefer American over Chinese stuff....we all have enough of that. My gripe is less about the economy and more about the standards that the Chinese hold themselves too ....everything from dog food to toxic toys.

If the gift card is substantial enough, buy BOTH
Enjoy the bow, whatever it is you end up with.

Agree! Like I said before...let the bow pick you! I can't count how many times someone has gone into a pro shop with the idea of buying one bow yet walking out with another!

Funny thing when i shop for a new bow is that i never seem to buy the bow that i specifically go to shoot.

Waiting on the right spec'd Obsession Fusion 6 to try out just because of the reviews......doesn't mean it will be the right fit for me though, funny thing this archery game we play.

My hunting buddy shoots the Hoyt and loves it. And as others have said the Bowtech is very popular and well regarded bow (setting aside the jokers). My suggestion is to try them both and see which one fits the best. At the end of the day no amount of great reviews is going to make a difference to how you shoot the bow.

You could also post the topic on Archery Talk and likely get a more intelligent and mature response. The AO these days is more to do with who's got the biggest and most fragile ego. If you are wondering who's winning check out the thread post count.

I'll bet you had NO IDEA that these clowns would run where they have with your question!! Your wife is a real sweetheart to have bought you such a guy gift! You are in really good hands at Jim-Bows. Have dealt with his shop for years and they will definitely treat you right. Pick the bow that feels the best to you. Shot my Experience and that was it after trying several other brands. Good luck and good shooting!

I have hunted with bowtech almost exclusively since 1998 or 1999, can't remember exactly. Every one of their products has been a good one, and I have killed some fantastic critters with them over the years. I continue to hunt with bowtech, and will for the coming hunting season. Recently I have switched to hoyt for target and 3d and I gotta say I'm liking it! Though I shoot neither a nitrium or an experience (I have a pro edge elite and carbon overdrive and invasion), I will say that you will likely not be disappointed with either of your choices, regardless of what you decide on. Just have fun with it!

Last year when buying my new bow the one I was most interested in shooting was the Bowtech Experiance. I ended up not really liking it. Found it jumpy and too much hand shock. So I kept looking, shot Hoyt, Elite, Diamond and APA. It came down to a Hoyt Faktor 34, I believe the Nitrum replaced the Faktor, and the APA Mamba M7. I ended up going for the APA, I am sure I would have been happy with either. The Apa was 150 bucks cheaper and is Canadian so I went with that.

Shoot them both a couple times and make sure they are set up properly for you. If it was me I'd buy the Hoyt probably like I said I as not a fan of shooting the Bowtech. Good luck with your choice.

Btw if anyone is looking for a Hoyt Faktor 30 Calgary archery center has them discounted.

I always say ...like Lefty and other stated ..."She will pick you"...
one can look on the internet all they want and base their desicion on that...
until you have had that bow in your hand and/or shot it keep an open mind...

You can hold that bow you drooled over on the internet and be excited...then pick up a less expensive other brand bow next to it and its OMG pure instant lust...she likes you...lol

I have shot and owned many bows that I just had to have...but just didnt click with them and my shooting suffered and was obvious...

Every brand has its innovations and great points...however they all will have an issue or two also..where all the attenion will be focused on by other brand shooters...

Be a fanboy of your bow regardless of brand and overall enjoy...

JMHO

This!

And maybe you can have your cake and eat it too. I saw some new hoyts on the rack at Jim Bows

I currently shoot a bowtech specialist and it is a strong super safe hunting bow and lands within 1 fps of calculated ibo. It's downside is an agressive draw cycle but how else to make those speeds with a 7 1/2" brace and 37" axle to axle. It meets all its specs, weight etc. I tried the new prodigy, it was 4 lbs 8.5 oz naked so it came out heavier than spec, it was very chunky, thick, heavy, my specialist is like a sleek sword compared to it, it also landed way below what i was hoping for speed....way way below, i will keep my specialist thanks. Take your chrony! I had a 12 hoyt element rocket that landed 2 fps over ibo. The specialist i think is bowtechs finest bow and really the only option. Possibly the only option of it's kind in all bowhunting bow options, it is unique and maybe the best bowhunting bow made imo.

I was very disappointed with the prodigy and i could be silly in thinking about trying the hoyt nitrum 34 (i shoot 29" draw length so would tope out the #2 cam). Don't get me wrong, the prodigy was a nice bow to shoot, just didn't meet specs as i was expecting, i have a chrony, i have a scale, i have a tape...bows should be what they say. The prodigy missed a couple big points for me in weight and speed. Yes i had the prodigy on it's most agressive setting etc. and yes i know how to work the ibo equivelant calculators, have done it on many bows, i was shocked by the prodigy really. Anyhow, that chapter is over. I will nervously venture out on a limb again and try the new nitrum 34 but my specialist is going nowhere. If the nitrum is what i think it could be then i will add it to the family but the specialist is an only child at the moment .

Head to Jim Bows, try your bowtechs and hoyts.

Well, thanks to Mike I had to go out and try the new Bowtech lineup.

I'm a two time loser now, maybe make that three because I just ordered a new Blowtech RPM 360 to go with the two Chinese Carbon Hoyt's I got!

It's gonna be a tough hunting season coming up, but I'm going to have to make the most of it

What are your thoughts on the rpm? I was very surprised at how good it felt. Not what I expected at all for a bow that hits 360fps.

For me it was one I wanted to like for all the obvious reasons but I found it did not balance all that well in my hand. Tried a couple different stabs with it but just never quite felt right to me but the next guy it might feel awesome. I dont like the way split limb bows feel so that may have been part of the issue.

My thoughts were "Holy ****"

I'm not a fanboy, but I'm a fan of speed, smooth draw, dead in the hand at the shot, and quiet. The 360 was all that for me.

I tried all the top end PSE, Hoyt, and Bowtechs, I even went back a second time to verify, and I picked the 360 over the Expirience, Carbon Overdrive, and the Prodigy. If I never already had a Hoyt Carbon Element and. Hoyt Carbon Spyder Turbo I might have gotten a Carbon Spyder 30, but the 360 is an amazing bow. Smoothest draw cycle of any bow I think I've shot, next to a recurve or a long bow.

I tried to like the Expirience or the Prodigy better, but to be honest the 360 was WAY better to me. It's always been my belief that what sets bows apart for people has more to do with their physiological build than the bow itself. With a draw curve you use different muscles throughout the cycle. Not everyone is built the same, having stronger points in different parts of the draw curve. I think the bow has something to do with it, but not everything to do with it.

Best bet for anyone is to try every bow you can... Accept mathews beacause they just suck!
