Since the Shames fans around here don’t have the class to do it, I suppose this Oil boy should step up.
Congrats Iggy on a HOF career. You were a worthy opponent, excellent hockey player and genuine good person. A true credit to the sport and our country.
Thank you.

Better late than never. Congratulations Iggy. Just reading the stories from the other teammates and people who knew him gives you a sense of how nice he really was.
Goes to show that you can be born in Edmonton and still be classy. There's still hope for some of you yet .

Sorry.. Still crying.. I couldn't speak of it....
Seriously... What a leader. I have been so fortunate to watch every last guy come through those doors since 1980. He is in the top 2 of all time Flames.
Not sure who I would want more with me.. Lanny or Iggy.
Classy guy. I hope he moves back here and can find a place with the team.

They were having this discussion on 960 the other day, Lanny wasn't even in the conversation, other than an afterthought, not really sure why.
For me, I think it would be Iggy for sure. Honorable mentions would be Lanny, MacInnis, Joe Nieuwendyk, and Fleury. If it's simply the greatest who donned the jersey, that would obviously be Jagr.

I would take MacInnis over Iggy.
Cup Winner
Conn Smythe
Norris Trophy
Hardest shot in the NHL and a righty.
In 1990/91 he had 103 pts in 78 games which is more than Iggy ever had in a single season and Iggy started in the NHL only 5 years later so that is not really an era issue.
In 20 season MacInnis had 1270 points. In 21 seasons Iggy had 1300 points.
Also he is an Eastern boy which earns him a couple extra points

Not a Flames fan, but man, Iggy is a legend. McGrattan put it best, describing #12 as the best 50 goal scoring heavyweight.

Lost the last two, I guess your and Bessie's version of "dominate" is the same. Dominate the losing stats.

Why do you guys always have to go years, or even decades, back to find something positive? Flames, easy, last game, won 7-1, last meeting against the Oilers, won.

Those disappear pretty quick. Hadn't heard about it, tickets went on sale yesterday, and nose bleeds are all that's left.

Instead of picking and choosing what time period of stats were looking at, lets just look at the overall history of the Flames vs the Oilers.
127- 118-18 in favor of the Flames. That is including regular season and playoffs.
Also, Calgary had the longest win streak at 9 games.

I'm a man. Stop trying to hit on me moose, not my thing, but no judgement.
And these stats are still relevant. If you want the most up to date stats, well look at the last game.
