It may be the lightest thing that I have in my pack, but after buying and wearing my Badlands neck gaiter this last weekend, I'm never going back.

Mine would probably have to be my puffy jacket and my Sirui t-025x tripod with field optics research bino adapter. Both make glassing a lot more enjoyable and I seem to sit for a lot longer now.

I would say my Thermacell heated insoles. Sure makes those long sits in a treestand more tolerable.

I found a one legged plastic stool that folds up into my day pack. It is light weight, quiet and allows me to sit where the lines of sight and concealment are optimal.
I also use a 4 legged shooting rest made from 4 fiberglass garden stakes that are long enough to rest the forearm and butt of a rifle on when standing. They fold together for a hiking stick when collapsed and fastened together with a rubber band. They are a good support when hiking or snowshoeing over rough terrain.

I’m very happy with my Kuiu gators
I’ve probably got about 1000miles on them, but they are done now and I’m in need of a new pair .

Last year I picked up a Nikon rangefinder. Never really used one before
I took it out this year and really liked the fixed 6 power magnification.
Being light and small I also liked the way it sat in my chest pocket and could be used with one hand to quickly verify deer bush from deer!

This product has been a huge game changer for me while Hunting bear in the late spring and deer/elk in the early fall. It’s called the thermacell and it repels misquotes like a force field With out it those swampy bear hunts and thick bush deer hunts would not be enjoyable. I don’t leave home without it.

Ordered the denali series from Alaskan Guide creations, I think it will be a good new best piece of hunting gear for me. I can relate Bull's eye, my bino's bounce around, like they are bungee jumping from the elastic band like harness that I have now, can't wait to get them, and try them out!

What's your greatest product find ?

Lieca 10x42 binoculars. Have them with me 365 days a year. I have lots of good gear but these always come first. They get used more than anything else... Then the hunt starts and the other gear comes into play.

Mine are, dare I say... MEC. And yeah, you have to walk like you just rode a horse all day to avoid having them chime together and spook everything around you.
I like the look of First Lite and Kuiu gaitors, but I'd also look at sewing some felt pads on the inside ankles of the ones I already have.

That's actually a great idea!
For me, my best piece of gear is my Buck Vanguard knife... It's pretty much always with me when I'm in the woods, hunting or not.

They are all noisy in my experience. Hard to get the best of both worlds with gaiters.

Try these...
http://www.wilkinscanvas.co.nz/
New Zealand canvas gators
I have used them on 2 guided, fly in, horse back elk hunts.
Lots of hiking through buck brush...
On my 1st trip, 1st day, the laces on my favorite, well used, kennetrek boots kept hanging up in the buck brush. Laces coming untied every 20 minutes.
Slowing me down
The guide loaned me hers... I was sold
I had worked hard on the prep and fitness
Who would have thought gators as a make or break?

Not in any real order, a rifle with a scope that always hold zero, that you shoot well, like really well, up to the shoulder in a second and boom! Like an extention of you. A quality knofe that holds ans edge, brand doesnt matter as long as it holds and edge. Layered quite clothing tagt keeps you comfortable, dry and warm. A lighter. Good binos. A good pack if you are hiking the back country and good boots. Most of the products offered and advertised (even big names) are not needed and are just a waste of money. Spend the money on getting out hunting however you can.

Thanks for posting that. I am just getting set up to start hunting and there is so much stuff for sale you could go broke pretty quick. Your list there is about all I want to buy starting out. Any extra I want to spend on practice ammo and gas.

Portable seat
Got a Peregrine Venture Bucket Pack for my birthday. Plenty of storage and now have a padded 5 gallon pail for a seat anytime anywhere. Great for still hunting etc..
