Playing in the Stanley cup finals year after year is a good thing. lol.
Hanging up the skates in April equals bad.

According to Seravalli, the Panthers were the runner-up. Rangers, Lightning, Kings and others also interested. These teams would have all done their due diligence.

LAMO why would any player want to go the Flames? You could have Jesus himself as GM and it wouldn’t have made a difference. Flames are about to re-build. #webroketheflames

The underline of my post was that every team including the Flames would have looked at Perry for their own. Perry picked the team that gives him the best chance at another Stanley Cup.
Glad he's in orange and blue!

No criminal misbehaviour.
If I want a role model, I will look at Twisted Canuck.
This is hockey.
I was embarrassed by those writers who continually went after him. Everyone wants a gotcha and to rub his nose in whatever happened.
He’s a good pick up and a free pickup for the bottom 6.
Someone with some real hockey sense, please tell me the downside cuz I can’t find it.

A greasy, gritty piece picked up for a a song. A guy with experience that matters too. I can’t see the downside.

The downside could easily be the numbers he pulled last season (and this season, really):

This year he was on pace for 50 points on the second worst team in the league.
(Oilers have lots of scoring power, he knows his role)

I seriously doubt it. I'm pretty confident rebuilding teams such as the Senators, Sabres, Canadians, Flames, Ducks, Sharks, etc. weren't jumping up and down to add a 38 year old forward to their line up, sending a young guy down. Other teams such as Colorado and Vegas will likely have enough trouble fitting in their own signed players (Landeskog and Karlsson/Theodore) and others have needs that Perry doesn't come close to meeting (Toronto/NJ/Carolina with their goalie and defense situation). Some teams could have fit him in Jets, Panthers, Flyers, Oilers, etc. and had a role he could fill, and likely explored the option. Oilers got him, not sure were he fits, but in my mind would make a great replacement for Brown.

There is zero downside to Perry. Being given a second chance after what he probably thought were career ending, boneheaded actions will not be lost on him. I am betting the games he plays in what is left if the 23/24 season, might be some of his best. It's going to be fun baby!

Seems to me all the naysayers were lining up when they signed Evander Kane as well. “ he’ll be a cancer in the dressing room!” He’ll bring too much baggage” etc etc.
All you can do is sit back and see how it works out. Oilers haters hoping for the worst and Oiler Fans hoping for the best.
All the speculation is just hot air and wishful thinking from both sides of the fence

Dammit. Who bobbled the puck and cost us a goal. I couldn’t see the number.

Goals are coming now. Funny how few shots on net there has been. Interesting.

Since the the Flames # 1 for you, and the Oilers are # 2, you would think you would be commenting more on the Flames thread, especially since they just blew a 3-1 lead and loss the game

Just finished watching the flames. Crappy last second goal.
So far Trudeau isn’t controlling what threads we get to post on and when.
But his minions probably are looking to do that… passively aggressively too I’m sure.

Like everything in life there are highs and lows, a true fan rides them out, every fan knows it and has been through it, we all know there are way more lows than there are highs.
Others hang around hoping for a train wreck so they have something to smile about

Boy...how quickly things can change.
At Christmas, I'd have considered Carter Hart a dream get. Fast forward a month and Stu sets a franchise record for wins with an ungodly Sv% over 11 games, while Hart might never play in the NHL again. (Just speculation, not crucifying the guy, but it doesn't look great at this moment.)

Haha. It's easy to kick when someone is down, but to try and do it at a peak time is something.
Even if it is..."Oh yeah? Well...ah...you'll lose some time, and then, you know...that will suck.." level trash-talk. My hats off, that's commitment.
