Also, I am thinking he is going to get more than the league minimum if rumors are true and his agent has been already contacted by 10+ teams
Unfortunately the Oilers are right at the top of the rumor mill.
I am kinda on the fence the more I think about it, as long as it is a contract for this season only.
I can't see him screwing up another chance that fast. Really won't start playing until 1st or 2nd week of February, and that is if everything goes quick with NHLPA appeal.
I know this is a Flames thread, so I will only do this once
Bison King, McDavid, Hyman
Nuge, Draisaitl, Yamo
Kane, McLeod, Foegele
Kassian, Ryan (Shore), Perlini (Sceviour)
That might be a hell of a 3rd line.

He's probably holding out for an offer from Vegas.
How long would that last?

That would certainly be ironic.
Vegas can't buy a bag of pucks right. They need to give away a couple players just so they can activate Eichel.

Rumor is he wants to play for Vancouver.
If the Oilers sign him, I suspect Jesse would drop to third line. Kane would play with Leon or Connor.
Kane has always had Calgarys number. Pretty sure 1/4 of his points are probably against the Flames

Leon and Connor don’t play together save for power plays. Oh never mind. I read that wrong. You may be right for sure.

Enough of all this Oilers talk.
Senator's in town. Big, big game.
Isn't this the must win game or the coach is getting fired?

It is a bad enough record that you don't have to make it worst... it is actually 2-9-2. We need all the Bettman points we can get.

The only win of the night for the Flames. What an awful, butt ugly non-performance from them. I do get tired of their mid season slumps.

Flames win next game and go 65-70% win rate remainder of the season.

That’s 4 loses in a row now for the Flames. I missed the beginning of the game but I heard that they played well for the first ten minutes. I missed it. All that I saw was them sucking.
I wouldn’t worry about it though, it’s probably nothing.

The only energy any of the flames showed all night was big Looooch for the rest of the 59 minutes they basically sucked

Glad I didn't watch that one, the highlights were bad enough.
Think of the positives though, Murray got his first win of the season!

If I paid good money to sit in the stands to watch that performance I think I would have went and demanded my money back.

Something about that Lucic vs Sabourin fight had me wondering. Sabourin started strong and then for whatever reason he let up.
I had my suspicions about why and this was my first thought. A Fractured finger early in the fight and just holding on for the rest.
Good on him....The turtle would have bailed and fallen to the ice.

Lucic won that tilt but what about their first one:

Your point being???
What about the first one? The guy wearing the visor doesn't get cut but ends up on his arse from a clean shot from the guy who had his non-shielded helmet pulled off and has a superficial cut.
You saying Sabourin got the better of Looch in the first fight? Look again.
Also note from the first fight that Sabourin sets up to fight as a lefty. So you got an owie on your right ring finger, throws lefts Nancy if you think you're in the same league as Looch.

Looch won em both. Especially the first one.
Buddy did better second fight. Up until he hurt his hand.
Might of been a tougher fight to call if he didn’t start favouring his hand.

Quite honestly the Flames could beat any team in the league to a pulp with their current line up of Lucic, Zadorov, Gudbranson, and Ritchie. I really can't think of another team with 4 heavy weights in their regular line up. But I don't think the Flames should be measuring success based on Young Blood or Slap Shot type hockey. The only thing they won the other night against Ottawa was the Lucic fight.

Not claiming a measuring stick of success at all, just a response to some guy who comes on the thread and makes a totally misguided assertion about what did or didn't happen in a couple of altercations.

Fingers cross, arms crossed, legs crossed.....no I'm not nervous at all.
Told myself all week that this is an L but they'll be fine if they get it together after this. So I dare not hope yet.
Looks like Markstrom is back. Nice to have good goaltending again.

Wow 5-1. Looking good. Where was half of this team against Ottawa? Frustrating sometimes.

Good solid performance tonight. Hard work and some good checking, disciplined with no stupid penalties really. Sutter got them back into shape looks like. Hope they can continue the trend and leave that slump behind.
I was shocked when I saw Panthers scored 50 goals in their last 5. Do the math....
