Wayner! Great to see you back, my friend. Haven't been out since last Saturday, but have heard the ice is getting worse and worse. We were *just* 12" on Saturday, and driving was iffy. Won't be any better now. We're likely heading back on Sunday early AM to try our luck. The Kinbrook launch area wasn't great last weekend. Might head to JF Bay or try the Resort area. I'm determined to find those 'Eyes!

What does moose lake or Pinehurst have for ice? I'm guessing trucks are on it but would like to know before the drive. Thanks

Today was one of the most beautiful mid winter days I ever had the pleasure to fish. Out on the bald arsed prairie in my shirtsleeves yanking rainbows and tigers like it was meant to be. Did the trout pond tour for a change and never seen another angler. Right around 12 inches everywhere I fished. Rock hard ice with little snow cover.

Lac La Nonne
Any recent ice reports for Lac La Nonne? Just wondering if it’s safe to take a 1/2 ton out closer to the middle of lake.

Just spent three days out there. People are driving all over. 10-12” of ice everywhere I drilled, but after that heat and wind the other day it is soft, and the forecast does not look good for the ice! Fishing was mediocre, they were taking bait, but far from aggressive.

I was out on Wednesday, 15-17", went on at Willowbend Resort and then moved down to the little grass island South of Klondike Park. Locals said they were driving all over the lake, and we watched a truck drive right across the lake to the the other side from Willowbend.

Anyone know what access is like at Calling lake? Last time I was up there the East side of the lake was all heaved but you could still get on at the Provincial Park. Hoping to drive over near the tower.

Star / Devils
Measured 15” at Star Lake today. Was also at Devils Lake. Didn’t measure but almost identical depth on auger when punching through.
Used a u/w camera at Star. Didn’t see anything at all. Used my flasher at Devils. Something was around my hook but didn’t have a nibble.

Back from another Sunday on Newell. Consistent 14" of ice everywhere we were. West side of the furthest island on Jackfish Bay was absolutely dead. Looked super fishy, but nothing on camera or on the flasher. Trekked over to Kinbrook and had a couple small jacks, but that's it. The hunt for big mama Walters continues!

I talked with a neighbor that said the main launch is a mess at the PP but you can get around it going out the other launch. Walleye and Pike was good

Death Trap
Park lake north of Lethbridge is a death trap as half the lake is now open with 1000 geese swimming in it...keho had 8” of ice but started opening up abit...so again possible death trap...Until it’s below zero for a couple weeks I’ll stick to other hobby’s.

Was on the OMR res yesterday.
Ice ranges from 15” to open.
WARNING!! For the first time since I’ve been fishin it... there’s several open gas spots... where bubbling methane released from the mud has kept the water open.... they are about 2 to 3 feet wide... surrounded by ice...
We counted 10 holes in a 300 sq foot area...... scetchy stuff man.
Lots of guys out fishing in the dark and wandering around
Hope no one falls in.

Badger Lake
Went to Badger Lake for the first time today — just past the derby shack. Only 7-8” where I was fishing, with open water a bit further out. Lots of bubbles and air pockets in sections of ice as well. Pretty sketchy... have to pay attention.

We were on Nakamun on Saturday. I would guess 18 inches tops. Good solid ice but thankfully no real snow on the ice so it should stay that way or get better with the cold snap coming.
