Welcome.

Good to see more wives getting involved. Now, if you all would come fishing with us, , , , ,

On second thought, maybe not. Every time I take my daughter fishing she gets more then I do and she always gets the biggest fish. Once or twice I could accept, but she has been doing that to me for over thirty years.
I've been thinking of taking up knitting or needlepoint.

Seriously. I love to go fishing, hunting, berry-picking and whatnot with the ladies in my life. I feel so blessed. Most of my sisters and my wife love such outings.

Perhaps you aren't into that, yet. But being a part of this online community is the next best thing. And it could be the start of something new and wonderful for you if you haven't tried such thing yet.

You like the photos, you could be the photographer. Personally I get more enjoyment out of photography these days then I do out of hunting or fishing.
That's partially because I,m not as active as I used to be, but it's also because wildlife photography can be as challenging as any other outdoor pursuit and it is something one can do at any time of year, with no license, and the same subject can be hunted successfully, again and again.

If wild meat didn't taste so good and wasn't so much healthier for a person then domestic meat, I would never pick up a rifle ever again, except to deal with wildlife problems such as a chicken thieving Coyote.

Hey! Still here too
Took her fishing two years ago, bought fishing licenses and set out early the next morning, at about 8 am she slipped on the gravel and broke her ankle in three places. Has one plate and nine screws in it now and has a lot of problems on uneven ground.
Before that we used to fish almost every night until someone decided they needed our fishing equipment more than us. Cleaned us right out (hope they enjoyed opening the tackle box with the smelts )
Long story short we really haven't fished much since then, But she did get a very nice camera from Santa this Christmas, maybe she will get some of the pictures of the pileated wood pecker up, that just loves our back yard.

Gee that's too bad about the ankle. I would love to see the photos.
We had one Pileated Woodpecker in our yard a few weeks after we moved here. I wasn't quick enough to get a photo of it and it has never came back.

I do see them occasionally in my travels but so far I haven't managed to get a decent photo of one. That is part of the challenge of photography, some things just seem impossible to capture on camera. Then when one least expects it there they are posing nice and patient. That's the way it was for me with Nighthawks until last summer when I found one sleeping at an old gravel stockpile site along the highway.
Lynx and Fisher are the next ones on my list.

Yeah, but why would we want to hear your views when we can go to the person that actually decides for your household? LOL
