Default Should we float the Bow June 4?

We had plans to float the Bow next weekend (June 3-5). Six guys, two nights, leaving from Glenmore trail to Carseland. Is this going to be a waiste of time?

Do you have flood insurance?

The river could get you to Carsland in a few hours, it is flowing FAST!

I would postpone the trip for at least a couple of weeks if possible. Camping on the islands or flood plain will not be fun. You could catch fish, but the overall trip may not be enjoyable.

Good fishing on the Bow will not improve until after spring runoff. Best fishing starts after the rainbows return from spawning and the water warms up a little. Rule of thumb stampede week is the start.

My list of things enjoyed in the rain is short, and floating the bow isn't on there.....

I would think safety going to be a bigger issue than fishing. Might need one of those giant jet pontoon boats like they fly up and down the Niagra river on. That could be fun.

i guess now with the major flooding its almost impossible to go...

Today alone the water rose a 1 - 1.5 ft. Yesterday it had risen to the edge of the permanent vegetation. Today it is flowing through channels that are normally dry except for this time of year and has gone well over the banks. Sections of the bike path are underwater. You will encounter loose objects such as the odd tree or large branch floating downstream. If you are doing a float for fishing, you will be too busy watching the water to get a line in.

Is this a trick question or a suicide attempt?
