Default muir lake alberta

Has anyone been to muir lake this year yet. Not too far from Chickakoo I think. I have never fished there before. Any good spots to fish from shore? What are the direction there from Spruce Grove?

From Spruce you go north on Campsite road to Township Road 540 (about 6 miles from hwy 16A). Turn left (west) and travel for another 2 miles. The parking lot will be on your left. Actually the road makes a turn to the right and if you don't make the turn you will be in the lake.

There really aren't many good places to fish from shore except for the dock. You can cast out and catch a fish but you can't get out to release it (all the loon poop will suck you down and you will never be seen again)

Be sure you read the regs - no bait and only one can be kept and it has to be over 20 inches.

There was a thread on this a week or so ago - do a search on Muir Lake

Cardiff,Morinville,Lacombe park in St. Albert, hermitage, east pit.
I think you need to pick up a Barry mitchel guide . It gives good directions to most of the lakes and a short review of each.

And muir is not as bad as people make it sound. It can be sloppy if the ground is moist.
Stop in one day on your way to or back from Chickakoo.

Last wednesday we hit Muir for 2hrs 3-5 after a great day at chickakoo when it was really sunny, from the dock on orange devils I caught a 15incher and a 9incher, last year this time I caught a 24incher from the dock too(in that snow storm, also caught a 27incher same day from my boat).
