Default Spring Wolf

I was up on the "Old Conklin Road" today and bullsh!tting with a friend on his ranch having a "diborja" as the Ukrainians would call it, when a single wolf came out onto the pasture where his cattle were grazing close to where we were sitting. He stood there long enough for buddy to go to his pickup for his 22-250. The big grey got whipped up with one shot at less than 100 yds. Both of us grunted to load him into the pickup box. I guess that we may have saved a calf, not to mention a few deer.

Unhappy

Unfortunately neither of us had a camera(I dropped mine through the ice in March), and buddy was fixing fence, so his camera was at home. I will ask him if he got some pictures of it when he got home with the animal. He was in good shape and did not appear to be moulting yet, so it was going to be skinned. Hopefully buddy took some pictures and I will be able to get them. His stepdaughter does taxidermy, so I expect that he will have a full body mount done. He had one of the finest full mount taxi displays in his "man cave", which included bighorn & Dall sheep, several elk shoulder mounts that bested 320, moose and deer, but lost them all in a fire two years ago.
