Split brass already?
Went out and shot a few rounds with the 270wsm. Shot three off and then picked up my brass and saw this . I'm in the middle with 64gr of RL-17 pushing a 110 ttsx. This is only the third shot out of this brass which is was new winchester. I thought I would get a few more then 3 or 4 reloads. I are the rest safe to shoot if they are doing this? Am I doing something wrong when loading? They have them all around the neck.

Just curious, what is the diameter of the neck on the fired rounds? How about the neck diameter on the loaded rounds?

That is fairly typical for a generous factory chamber, so the necks are being worked a fair amount by sizing and firing the cases.

What should I do with the rounds I haven't fired yet? So I'm looking at three shots then toss them, or is there something I can do.

just wondering if 64gr is nearing the maximum for your book ? Looking in my hornady reloading book right now and for the 110gr bullets it only has RL-15 listed and max is 56.9gr. Not saying nothing but just wondering !

The load looks reasonable based on the Alliant data at the link below.

It is possible that the brass wasn't properly annealed.

The info I got from barnes was 62-66 of RL-17 for the 110 ttsx, which puts me in the middle. I've shot up to the 66 and had no signs of pressure.

Annealing after each shot and before re-sizing may help, with a larger chamber.

You liely wll be splitting more brass if you do shoot them.
However, you have already re-worked the brass to size again, ad I'm not sure if annealing will help at tis point.
That wold be a lot of work to pull te loads and primers , anneal, then re- load, just to possibly have them split anyway, but I would maybe try a fw , myslef, and see if they did in fact split..

If the brass has been sized but not loaded, annealing will help. Subsequently, annealing will likely have to be done about every fifth loading or so. >005" isn't really too much clearance but the sizing die may be taking them down as far as .300 then expanding them back up. That's a lot of working. Leeper

A Lee collet neck sizing die (cheaper) or a Redding bushing resize die ($$$) may also help, they should work the brass much less with every loading. You might only need to full length resize every 3rd or so reloading. Neck sizing and bumping the shoulder when required, and annealing every few reloadings lets my 300 and 325wsm brass last much longer, I have one set that has 14 loadings on it.
