Default black nugget lake

Anyone ever fished here near Tolfield. Is it a private campground as I see it has campsites but is also stocked by the alberta stocking program ?? Access in ? I would like to head out next week so any info would be appreciated.

so you had to pay to fish a goverment stocked pond? That seems kind of unfair huh ? I wonder how that works! What about access in the winter, I would think the campground is closed now so would I be trespassing to go in there ? and how far from the road would I have to walk if there is a closed gate?

I believe ,they had a pay box and it is privetized as they say.
If you want trout that you can eat go to Carson.Easy catching there.

Wanted to know about this lake as i live east of Leduc and it would be under an hour where as Carson is over 3 hours for me. just having trouble understanding the pay for trout pond if we are stocking it. I can understand if they were stocking it themselves it would be perfectly acceptable to charge. Still would like to know about access in there.

The only charge @ Black Nugget is for camping, the fishing is not great in the winter. I believe there is a trout pond out west of Thorsby I cannot recal the name though!
Shemeluk is better!

Carson is only 2 hours from outer limits of Edmonton. And its worth doing at least once a year.
Go for it salt water ! You will catch fish !
Have you tried Sardein lake ,its between Calmar and Dryton Valley
That's just under 1 hour from Leduc ,it has Perch and Trout
