Brutal, but thats how it is in nature. You didn't think that animals wait for there prey to die before they start to chow down, did you?

Default bear vs moose

Yep - mother nature is never as squeaky clean as Walt Disney would have most people believe. It can be a harsh, brutal environment where survival of the fittest is the order of the day.

about 3 years ago my mom and i were walkin on our land and looked over to my neighbors property because some of his hourses were running around the fence line while the mother of the colt was standing by it, the colt was trying to get up but couldnt, its front would lift up but the back end wouldnt stand up, we couldnt see what was wrong with it from where we were so we went back and called my neighbor to tell him wh at we had seen, in a little bit he called us back and told us that a cougar had just eaten the ass end of the colt out but it was still alive so he had to shoot it. it was pretty crazy to hear/ see that.

Yup,

Nature does not live by our rules. That is one of the more troubling things nature can hit you with, but in fact it is standard procedure for most predators.

I have a photo of a Deer I took a few years ago that would make most folks physically sick. It was in such bad condition (from a broken jaw ) that I figure it had just a few hours left to live. It was skin and bones and it could barely walk.
Worse still it had two fawns with it.

I've seen it happen. I came accross a whitetail doe stuck in the silt of the Red Deer River just north of Greenwater Park in Sask with a coyote sitting on it's back pulling out chunks of meat from it's haunches.

Can anyone verify that this is from Scandinavia?

Makes you want to put a bullet into the moose just to end its suffering.
