Just got back last night. Hunted 3rd season. The group of 5 of us only got 2 animals. Passed on a few opportunities on day 1, hoping for better on days 2 and 3. Bad idea. Saw very few animals last 2 days. Very disappointing regarding animals seen for all of us. Still enjoyed the hunt though. A lot of the area was closed. Seen a couple of gaggers in restricted areas. Saw alot of moose. Biggest being a 40+ bull. Saw 6 elk. Lots of tracks of all kinds. I personally didn't see or hear of any huge bucks come in. Feel concerned for Hunt 4 and 5 hunters. Is going to be really difficult unless they open up more area. This is my 2nd 3rd season hunt. Next time it's going to be Primitive Weapon. THe results for 1st rifle hunt looked good as well. The result board for third hunt will look pretty dismal though. Good luck to anyone going out for season 4 or 5. I'm afraid you're going to need it.

Big Al I got the last hunt this year ,not overly excited about it but thats how it works.I here they open up the base more for the last hunt, thats what I herenot for sure but I hope so.I only hunt the N/W &S/W part of base anyway so does not matter to me as to what they open or close .Not a big fan of the annex ,just like east side and the Battle rvr .

The wife and I saw 8 deer Thursday and got a doe and a fawn, saw six deer Friday and got a 2X2 and a 3X3 and saw six deer Saturday and I missed a doe, we passed on three. Over all we did well working hard and putting on the miles. We could have easily taken 15 antlerless moose over the three days. Fresh snow Friday morning helped but by Saturday there were tracks everywhere. Saw lots of sharptails and only 2 coyotes. I lost the numbers for moose and elk but with about 40 hunters left to check in there were only 68 deer taken.

Just got back from rifle 2 yesterday. We were the last deer hunters to check in on Saturday night and our 3 deer were #'s 388,389 and 390 for 2010. We saw close to 75 deer over the 3 day period but we put on alot of miles on foot. Also saw about 50 elk and 6 or 7 moose. We watched the last moose hunter check in his bull late on Saturday and his moose was #69 for the year. I still cant believe how many moose come out of there each year. We also had a good chat with the base biologist and it was interesting hear what he had to say regarding trophy quality myths on the base. It's funny to hear guys complain about the lack of big deer on the base as they throw a couple of fork horn muley heads on the pile.
Our group of 3 took 4 mule deer over the 3 day season. It was a fun yet suprisingly challenging hunt and I cant wait to go back!

Nice meeting some of you guys. As stated at the end of Rifle 2 the total was 380 deer, 69 moose and 4 elk. Some good deer have been taken. Several 180+ mule deer and a few 150-160 whitetails. The moose have been great with at least 6 over 48" and a few over 50". Sounds like the hunting is getting tougher as the deer are hanging tight in the big stuff. The whole base should be open for the last two hunts. Enjoy!

Just got back from Camp W. only 65 hunters in camp, probably the lowest turnout ever.Didnt bump into a whole lot ofguys like you normally would
if you had 150 or more in camp.Still had a good time and was succesful, will post a picture later on. Did not see alot of game but enough to keep you interested. Like the base hunt but probably not the last 2 hunts as game are pretty wiery.Still had a good time, cause I could be christmas shopping instead, not.

Just got back from the last season and the first time ever hunting it. Had a great time. I never harvested anything but could of cashed in on does and a small mule deer buck. Saw well over 30 mulies, 8 moose (couple nice bulls),10 whitetails including a beautiful 5X5 that i should probably taken a crack but did not feel confidant with the shot. Will defiantly go again it is a extra opportunity to hunt in December when i wouldnt be. So i say heck ya im all about it!!!!
