Default Careful on those highways tonight folks

Just got a call from my buddy, went from Hinton to strathmore and saw allot of accidents, one was a family that perished and another a truck crashed and blew up.

he said the road is pure ice with water on top.

careful out there and dont travel if you dont have to.

Highways were glare ice around Edson this morning. Rained all the way back into town tonight, should be another interesting morning.

Winter is about to show its ugly face this week with temps dropping and the snow coming in. Tuesday morning will be interesting, as the temps wont be nice and all the rain will make everything a sheet of ice.

Oh boy........

Just drove home from Fort St. John to GP, got home a couple hours ago. Temp was still 4'C, not freezing yet but raining the whole way. When the temp drops it is going to be scary bad I'm guessing....glad to get home before freeze. Had a good time at the hockey tournement too!

Do drive safe people!

Similar conditions (rain, not freezing yet), from Athabasca to Innisfail, and fairly clear from there to Calgary (except for what seemed to be quite a bad collision with...I think it was a cow elk, but it was pretty shredded...near Didsbury on Hwy 2 -- police were present, 3 cars and a truck pulled off to the side; hamburger all over the road). I did hear that things are pretty slick further West, though.
