Default TC 20g Slug Gun

Finally! After ordering it last October, going to pick it up tomrow from P&D. Got a Leupold Ultimate Slam 3x9 shotgun scope on hold as well.

For the guys that own TC's, what would you recomend for rings and base?

I heard mixed things about the factory triggers, have you made any changes to yours?

I'm hoping this is a realistic 200-250 yard deer gun, will have to wait and see.

Some of you are probably thinking this gun is a little odd, but man am I excited to hunt with it in the primitive season around my place.

Pics to follow.

What kind of 20 .ga slugs are you going to be shooting? What kind of energy they have and how they perform at 200-250 meters is important.

When you say "primitive season" you are talking about a season where shotguns are allowed right?

I paid $975 for the gun today and $340 for the scope plus tax.

I will have to do some feild testing before I can answer those questions.

I was just looking at those Rem. 20 gauge slugs and could not see any info on their performance beyond 100 yards.

So I did a little googling and found something interesting.

Hastings 3 1/2 inch 20 ga. slugs.

You would have to have a barrel smith extend the chamber of your 20 to accept a 3 1/2 inch shell to use them. Check it out.

haven't shot any 20 ga. slugs, but have shot some 12 ga. thinking he may be a "bit" disappointed at performance much past 100-125 yards, dunno for sure....but....

I've done a pile of research on this setup.

Read reviews of actually users, not company advertisements.

I think slugs have come along way latey from throwing a 1 oz. rifled lead chunk down a smooth bore.

Watched a show on wild TV a while back where a TC 20g had a TC ML beat from 50 out to 200 yards.

The 28'' pipe has me hoping for some better results as well, have to wait and see.
