Default Sako 85

Does anyone have an opinion/experience with the Sako 85?

I have a Sako 85 Varmint Laminate Stainless in .223,and I am pleased with the rifle. It has the best trigger trigger that I have used in a factory rifle, and it easily puts five rounds into 1/2" at 100 yards.

I have a couple, one 30-06 and the other a 25-06. They are both very accurate and nice to shoot. Can't go wrong with the Sako 85, but some will complain about the stock and that they prefer the 75 style of stock.

I have 1 in 300 WSM and love it.Shoulders perfect for me,action is butter, and accuracy is awesome.I can't think of a better rifle to purchase.(A little pricey though;but quality is rarely cheap)

Great rifle. But I am one of the people....not a complainer that just prefers the model 75 stock.

I have the Sako M85 Finnlight in 300WSM and am very pleased with the machining quality of the action and magazine assembly. I did install a McMillan stock on it recently and conceit that the M75 type stock feel is more appealing for me.

I have a Sako 85 Kodiak in 375 H&H.
I have only had it a couple months but love it.
Right from the get go it was VERY accurate with the open sites. The scope for it just come in so hopefully I can say the same thing once I shoot it again.

I bought a 2506 before Xmas that was defective, cases were coming out damaged and very poor groups, this was quickly replaced by dealer and new rifle is fine. win 90g varmits are giving one raggered hole at 100m, most other groups about 1" or slighty more still playing around with loads and weights, Might try a lead sled as the old jacket and me might be some of the problem.
nice rifle and good backup wty.

Being a heavy gun the recoil very manageable. I have recently shot a couple .300 WSM's that punt you harder than this .375 H&H.
The gun is balanced very nice. The entire fit, feel, and handling is top notch.
You won't be disappointed with a Kodiak.

Well the first things I plan on shooting with it will be either whitetail or mule deer does this fall. Just for bullet testing purposes.
I am kind of planning on using it in the heavy bush for moose or elk. Then one day Alaskan Brown Bear and hopefully Alberta Bison.
Im still keeping my baby (Accumark) for open range shooting. Deer, Antelope, Elk, etc.

Default Sako 85 LS .270WSM

I just bought the Sako 85 in the Grey Wolf version last week and had the privilege of shooting it over the weekend. all I can say is awesome. After spending so much time looking for a new rifle; I made the right decision. Expensive but well worth the money.

I wanted it to look all pretty so I put a Silver Zeiss on it. I will post some pics for you soon.
IMO it doesnt kick hard at all. It may for some people, but it is really managable. Nope no brake.

Besides, puttin' a 'break on a .375 H&H would be just horrid!

But then I've always been something of a traditionalist.

A Silver scope seems Fitting, because it will match the rifle, and a zeiss none the less, very nice!!! I've never shot a 375 H&H before ,but I got a 300 Wby and she bucks like a Horse she's cracked a couple people between the eye's at the gun Range over her long life.

cant wait to see your new Gem!!!

I have a BAvarian model in 30-06.

Very nice gun, accurate but a bit heavy.

I too like the 75 stock design.
