Default Its a done deal.

Hey guys, thanks for all your advice on the purchase of my new rifle.

I decided I would stick to the 30-06 and bought a Winchester - Model 70 Bolt and put a 3X9X40 Busnell on it. By the feel of this rifle, I think it will be a keeper for many years to come. All the research and then the advice given from you all helped out immensly. Thank you.

I also want to thank Sportsmens Den in Red Deer. They were quick and freindly and I will not hesitate to shop there again. They matched any big box store price and had knowledge as well. Thanks.
Now to put the draws together.

Congrads, You can't go wrong with a model 70 in 30-06. The caliber will work for anything and the winchester is way better than any remington!

Default model 70

I got the featherweight. and it is way lighter than my Remington pump 30-06. Its 6 3/4 lbs from what I unterstand. I'm happy with the selection and can't wait to get the the range and puts some lead through it.

The folks at The Sportsmans Den are not only good to deal with when you are making a big purchase, they are just as helpful when you want a $2 item. I often have time to kill waiting for appointments and just go in to look around. I am always treated well even when a sale is not likely.

If you do ever have a problem they step up to the plate and make it right now with no BS.

That's exactly the one I have. Great gun. Doesn't seem to kick any where near what my t3 does...although the limbsaver on the t3 really seemed to tame things down.

The model 70 fwt is in my opinion one of the nicest regular priced rifles ever made.
