Default Bought my first NEW gun today.

I have been in love with the lever action rifles since i was a kid watching old cowboy movies. So I bought me a Marlin 336ss. in 30/30. I looked at the xlr
but the ss just felt right and with the 20" barrel the sights just seem to line up beautifully every time.

Now all I have to do is find some leverevolution ammo, maybe proline????

I've never owned one and I really can't justify the expense, but owning a lever action would simply be cool. It wouldn't do anything more for me than my bolt actions... just cool. Enjoy.

Lever guns...

If Mr Winchester had made the 94 in 30-06, there would be no need for anything else

Congrats on the new rifle. She's a dandy

Default Congratulations!

Very sweet!

I too like the levers. There's just somethin' cool about the old guns! Even new S/S ones!

I've got a Win. 94 30/30 top eject (without that darn cross bolt safety!) that I restored from a rusty piece of crap that would not even allow the lever to move an inch. It's now a real nice piece and shoots surprisingly well. Needless to say it's near and dear to my heart now!

I also have a Marlin 1895 45/70. What can I say. I LOVE the old cartridges and that old bugger has LOTS of punch and shoots very well. I'm feeding it the Hornady LEVERevolution ammo too.

Enjoy that new shootin' iron!!!

I'm thinking if i just love it so much and i want something to reach out a little further I might try and find a 308mxlr and scope it.

Thanks for the tip. CT has 10 boxes so I'm heading down there tonight. I'm gonna stockpile a bit and if anyone would is as excited about trying this ammo as I am I can grab a box or 2 and hold it for ya. Just lemme know soon as I'll be there in a couple of hrs.

Ha yeah. Oops.

I didn't look for any other calibers but the selection was really good as far as I could tell. Yes it was the southland store. The # is 4032784040 I believe.

There is only 4 boxes left of the 3030 rounds now.
