Default Fly tips - Lakes around pincher - helppp

So Im planning on doing some camping this weekend.. I would prefer to fly fish a couple different lakes, beaver mines, beavauis and lee. My only problem is when I fly fish, I almost always hit the rivers. The crow is still in run-off, And Im stumped for what to use for flys in the lakes at this time of year. Ive been seeing a lot of fish rising lately, so Im thinking I should go with some dry flies. Any suggestions? Im a fan of nymph fishing, but I kinda wanna try and get some of those risers. What flies should I buy?!!?

Have to see what is hatching however a good standby for those lakes on top this time of year can be used. I like to use adams, mosquitos, black gnats,BWO's, PMD's, some midges to start off with. Sizes 18 through 12 or 10 seem to work. Then I go from there! Have fun and good luck.

I've not had much luck on the surface in Beauvais, even when there were risers.

If you want to go the streamer route, try a beadhead leech pattern, black or dark purple. Those have done the trick for me.

Default Try these....

small green wooley bugger size 10.

beadhead prince.

black leech.

Chronomids under a strike indicator may stll work ok.

Boatmen.

Beavais works best when one fishes them w/sink tip line.
- lots of good browns there this year b4they dumped in their 'rainbow snacks'.

have fun.

In addition to the good suggestions already made, I've had really good luck using about a size 14 brown elk hair caddis on both Beauvais and Beaver Mines Lakes when the fish are rising.

Try a 52 Buick or a light green damsel. Green and black flies have always worked down there for me.

More important than the fly though is the line you choose to use. I would use either a clear intermediate, or a full type 6 sink line.

Good luck. Have a great time.
